Daryl's P.O.V.

I wake up to Cece jerking in her sleep,she's been having a lot of nightmares lately...
I hold her arms and I lean in to whisper into her ear "Hey,I'm
right here.It's time to get up now Cece.It's just a dream."
I say gently and She gasps and looks over at me,clinging to me for dear life.
"D-D-Daryl." She stutters out before nuzzling her face into my chest."I'm right here."
I say rubbing her back."W-Where's Emma?!" she asks in panic and I put a
finger to my lips."She's right behind me,snug against the wall."
I say to calm her down She takes in a deep breath and she rests her palm on my chest.I look at her and she leans up and brushes
her nose lightly with mine before I brush a lock of hair away and lean in to kiss her.
"I forgot how good of a kisser you were." She whispers and I bite her bottom lip softly.
She pulls back lightly and leans her head against my chest and clings onto the fabric of my shirt,
"It was about him." She says softly and I felt all of my muscles freeze over.
"Cece-" I say quietly and she shakes her head,burying it into my chest more and I sigh.
my hand creeps up her shirt a little bit,just to land on her hip.
She peppered light kisses on my chest and I take in a sharp breath,"Cece, stop." I warn quietly and she pulls back."Sorry." She says quietly and I shake my head.
"No it's fine,I just.." I pause and sigh and she nods,"I'm
not ready either,it just was spur of the moment."
Her voice comes out quietly as if I would hurt her,Marcus
did a number on her,Hell my dad did a number on me
too but probably not as bad as her dad.
"Remember when Old Man Jem accused you of stealing his Chicken
and All he would do is point and yell at you whenever
we would walk by." She asks,drawing circles into my chest and I snort.
"Yeah,That crazy asshole never let me live that down,even though I didn't even steal his chicken.
Crazy bastard." I whisper and I bury my face into her soft black hair.
"Momma?" I hear a quiet,frail voice ask from behind us and she sits up a little,rubbing one eye.
My shirt hangs from her small body loosely and Cecelia smiles.
"Baby I'm right here." She says softly and Emma crawls over me and I make an 'Oof" sound
as her hand pushes down on my stomach and she giggles into quiet air."You think that's funny?"
I ask and I start to pinch at her sides and She squeals quietly.
I stop and I let myself smile for the first time in a very long time.
"Well good morning sunshine."
Cece says and I feel Emma's face bury into my chest.
"Wow,you girls really like my chest." I mutter under my breath and Cece blushes.
I start getting up and I feel a frail hand grasp my arm.
"You deserve to lay down today,you've done enough for them these past weeks.They can manage."
I hear Cecelia speak up softly and I look over my shoulder to her.
She sits up and wraps her arms around my neck from behind,lightly and starts to kiss my scars.
"Cece what are you doing?" I ask,getting a little defensive as my back tenses up.
"Showing you care and love.God knows we both need it."
She whispers,leaning her head onto my shoulder.
"I tried stopping him once."
I say quietly and I could feel her tense up before relaxing.
"Is that where this one came from?" She says tracing one on my chest and I place a hand on my forehead.
"That one was the bike chain."
I say quietly and She kisses my shoulder."They're never coming back,You hear me?"
She ask and I nod my head. Emma walks over to face me and she wraps her tiny arms around me."I love you darie." She says Quietly and I tense up just a little and i pat her back."You're doing good Daryl." Cece whispers and I nod.
"I'm gonna go out and find somethin for us to eat."
I say quietly getting up and shrugging a shirt and my jacket on.
"Make sure she keeps warm,I think she's coming down with a
cold,been hearing her sneeze and cough in 'er sleep."
I say looking at Emma and Cece nods.
"If you can find some mint I can make some tea for her." She says standing up and sliding her pants
on."I'll see what I can find." I say grunting as I slide my crossbow onto my shoulder and walk towards the door.
"Dare?" She asks and I turn around to her right behind me."Be careful." She says and I nod,
She leans up and plants a small kiss to my cheek but I grab her hips softly and I
plant A warm kiss to her lips."No promises." I say and she shakes her head."You worry me Dixon."
She says and I smile."You do the same to me." I say before  I feel Emma hug my waist. I freeze and look down as I put a hand on her head gingerly, she smiles and runs back over to Cece. I walk out of the room and Into the living room of the house we were staying in at the moment."Rick,I'll be out for a bit,goin' huntin'." I say quietly and he nods.
"Be careful." he says and I nod. I walk out into the snow covered scenery and I let out a foggy breath.
"God damn it's freezing." I whisper before I start my hike through the forest.
