"If Coralynn is anything, she's a pack rat," ~Anna, Coralynn's online friend
My room is my sanctuary. I keep all of my things inside there. Let me see... Fumbling around was not the most fun but ah well.
I switched on my iPad and opened Instagram. Yay! She's online right now! I went to video call my online friend from the Netherlands -- Anna. We are both 13 year olds going through the highs and lows of life.
"Hey Anna," I said into my microphone.
"Coralynn, what's up? Why are you video calling me all of a sudden?" Anna replied, looking extremely concerned.
"Sigh-- my mother scolded me for my grades again. I am really trying hard."
Anna really knocked my socks off. Firstly, she looked 7 years older than she actually is. She is only 13 but she looks like an adult. Secondly, she gives better advice than someone our age. She can become a counsellor when she grows up. Lastly, she has a nice texting style. She trained me to use acronyms when I text.
"I know school is hard. Here, I have something that can help you. I will send it to you later. Yeah, I am also struggling rn*," Anna replied.
After we said goodbye, we hung up.
* rn means right now
