One day, I was playing football in the garden by myself when i kicked the ball towards the basement window and it broke, the ball fell in. I knew that I had no other choice than to get in the basement and get the ball back. I was sceptical about it, but decided to conquer my fears and go in.

The basement door creeped me out, as it creaked when I opened it, slowly revealing the darkness within. I almost had a heart attack when I saw snake skins hanging from the ropes along the wall.

I slowly walked down the stairs with a fading lantern in my hand, I was finally able to notice a circular structure sitting quietly next to the broken window. It was the ball! I ran to the ball and picked it up. Suddenly I heard a loud thud at one of the corners of the basement. We have been tortured by rats a lot in the house, so i thought the sound was made by the evil doers, but I never knew, that what I had in my mind was nothing other than a mere delusion. I noticed a dark shadow slowly fading away behind one of the walls of the basement, which made me re-think my imaginary delusion.

Had it been a hallucination? I dont know, but I had seen a clear shadowy figure slowly walking behind the walls, as if it tried to lure me in there. I have seen enough horror movies to know that following the danger is the worst option, so I ran up the stairs, went to my bedroom and locked the door. In a hurry, I had forgotten to close the basement door, and I'm afraid, I may have released whatever was in there from its captivity.

To be continued...
