Draco looked at me incredulously. "Already? So soon? Shouldn't we-"

"Draco." I was not going to let him deter me. "Do you not trust me? Do you not recognize me as being in favor of the Dark Lord? What would Lucius say?"

"Don't bring my father into this," he hissed at me. I stepped towards him.

"Don't you dare," I said through clinched teeth, "speak to me like that." Karissa was smirking. She knew that he would soon submit to me.

"I'm sorry," he said, still peeved. "It's unlike you to be so impulsive," he explained. All anger soon dissipated from his stare. "You're usually so prepared," he continued, now touching my face sweetly. He brushed a dark lock of hair from my cheek, tucking it behind my ear. "So calculating, so cold..." he whispered, leaning into me. I looked up at him. Our chests were touching, but he was quite taller than me. His blonde hair fell into his perfect face. "My wicked queen," he said, smiling, before he kissed me. It was brief, but satisfying.

"Enough of this folly," I said. "We have work to do." I smiled and winked at him, and he blushed, straightening his dress robes. Karissa chuckled and kissed Daemon on the cheek. He blushed a furious shade of red and cleared his throat. I laughed. I walked to one of the mirrors, reapplied my pale lipstick, and touched up my dark eye makeup. Karissa helped fix my hair, and I returned the favor. We looked marvelous. Like royalty. Draco and Daemon looked stunning as well. The fire began to crackle magically again, and I peered into the flames. It was my mother.

"Jezebelle, I assume your meeting with the Dark Lord went as planned," she said. I smiled. "Oh, hello, Karissa. Draco, Daemon," she greeted them.

"Mrs. Lestrange," they replied in unison.

"Mum, I need to ask a favor of you."

"These favors are becoming more and more tiresome, Jezebelle. What is it?"

"Assemble the Death Eaters, quickly. Have them guard the outside of the premises of Hogwarts. There is going to be a coup."

"So soon!" she exclaimed, then cackled. I laughed along.

"Yes. My work for the Dark Lord must begin immediately," I said smiling.

"So eager. You have a well assembled team, my young one. The daughter of another accomplished Death Eater, Ms. Karissa Wilkes," she said, and Karissa smiled and curtsied. "Your father fought waves of Aurors. He was an incredible warrior. Son of Narcissa, my 'sister'," she said, laughing. "We come from such different bloodlines. My family was kind enough to take her in when her own parents had passed. Such a pity," she said. "However, it is lovely that you have found a consort with blood as pure as yours, Jezebel. I am glad that there is no blood relation between you and Draco. He is a lovely specimen. What an accomplished father," she said, and Draco smiled at her. "Your mother however-" she began, and I coughed. It was not a time for petty arguments. "Anyway. Daemon, you will do well to serve Ms. Wilkes as a consort, and to serve my Jezebelle as a dedicated warrior. Draco, I have confidence that you will soon become just as powerful as my daughter, should you take care to do her bidding and protect her from the prying eyes of the Ministry. Karissa, you make an excellent equal to my daughter. Where she may fail, you will not. Where you may fail, she will not." Karissa and I smiled at each other. "They will be there shortly. Do not mar the name of Lestrange, Jezebelle. Make your mum, and your Lord, proud."

"I will," I said. "I will not fail the Dark Lord." She cackled and disappeared from the flames. I turned to my group. "By the time we reach Dumbledore's office, they should be surrounding the school. Let's go."

Karissa linked arms with me on my left side. Draco stood at my right, and Daemon joined Karissa on her left. I lifted the charm on the door, and we walked out unnoticed. We walked the winding hallways, the enchanted staircases, and endured the presence of mudbloods for what should be the last time. I peered out one of the windows. The growing crowd was already surrounding the grounds, and they looked ready. We neared Dumbledore's office. I knocked. The door eased open.
