HIS SUMMER GIRL

chapter one

June looked out the window, memories weilded about her..

"Ma'am we're almost there" the taxi driver announced.

June knew that her decision to spend time with her sister was a good one . It would be good for her....a change of environment.
Her sister,May had been delivered of a baby girl....well about four months ago.
Thankfully, it was the distraction she needed.

A week ago, her fiance,Jake, had ended their engagement.
"I don't think am ready for marriage"he'd said.

"We don't have to have the marriage now....we could wait until you're ready" June had argued.

"I know that.....I just....I don't wanna be with you anymore...I can't do this with you. Let's just end it here. You can keep the ring....am sorry June". And then he walked away.

The pain had been so much that even her single dad was worried about her...it was his suggestion to have her spend time with May.

But June couldn't figure out what went wrong with Jake. They had the perfect relationship....and she was sure she hadn't done anything wrong in any way.

So what had happened??
Well June had gotten her answer three days ago... when she visited his office...

"We're here miss". The driver said pulling her from her thoughts.

May lived at waterbay. A small quiet town. The kind of place June needed to clear her head.

"Thank you" June appreciated as the driver helped her with her luggage.

"Keep the change" she told him as she handed him the bill.

He smiled and gave her a wave as he drove off.

This is it...she sighed and then rang the doorbell.

May lived with her husband Jay in a three bedroom flat decorated with french windows. It even had a picnic garden up front.

The front door opened and June was suddenly pulled into a tight hug.

"Oh June! You're here" may her hugger said releasing her.

"June -"Jay came into veiw. He gave her a peck on the cheek."come on in"

"Thanks" June smiled.

They moved back to let her in. Jay had little August in his arms.

"What took so long?...we were worried. You said you would be here by morning you Know". May asked.

" I'm sorry, there was traffic on the way" June explained taking August from Jay"look how big this princess is".she cooned at little August. The baby girl was just so adorable.
"Well it took a lot of miracle for her to be born" May retorted.

"I'll take these to the guest room". Jay took her luggage away.

When he left, May turned to June...her expression serious.

"Ok spill it...what happened? You sounded down on the phone... Even dad's not telling me anything".

There was a pause as June's smile faded.
"I....Jake ...he called off our engagement".

"What! Why?" May was shell shocked.

"At first he said he didn't want to be with me anymore and all...but I couldn't believe that so I went to his office three days ago and..." June swallowed."I caught him with another girl... they were having sex" she squeezed her face at the memory." Turns out they had been dating the past three months... well I threw the bastard's Ring at him and left. He didn't even call".

"Does dad know he cheated?"

"God!no!.. he'll kill Jake. He only thinks Jake grew cold feet" June replied.
