Chapter 2: "Along the Walls"

CHAPTER 2-1: "Ruined Walls"

     The next day, Emmett wakes up and starts to prepare himself to go towards the main castle by exercising, eating, taking a bath, wearing his armor, and proceeding to walk towards the castle respectively. While walking, someone calls him from behind. He looks back and sees Aria going towards him grinning. "You seem to be in a happy," Emmett says to Aria. "Well, we did win against everything yesterday," Aria replies. Aria's joyous grin starts to become a concerned look which grabs the attention of Emmett. "What's wrong?" Emmett asks her. "Something is not right," she replies. "I think we need to go to the castle," she adds. "Then let's go to the castle," Emmet says as both agree to walk towards the castle.

     In the castle, the castle guards are seen in their position as Emmett and Aria walk towards a door guarded by the castle guards. The castle guards open the door for Emmett and Aria and they both see a group of people sitting in front of them. One of the members of the group calls them out and then, they sit. The group is known as the Three World Council and Emmett and Aria starts to discuss the situation that had happened, the lives that had been lost, and the sudden emergence of a crystal that brought hostile and occasionally new entities with it.

     At the end of the meeting, Emmett and Aria alongside the Three World Council part ways and ends the meeting with a concerning atmosphere. "I guess we really have to see what happens next, unfortunately," Emmett tells to Aria. "I see," Aria replies. They are about to go over the wall but an explosion happens close by which gets their attention. They run towards the walls only to find a big hole on the wall and the floor and a bunch of structures destroyed near the wall.

     As they approach the hole, an arrow flies past them nearly hitting Emmett. Emmett, cautious, looks closer as Aria unsheathes her sword in preparation. He gets a closer look only to see a mysterious figure wearing shadow-like armor staring them down. "Well, well, well, if it is the legendary commander Emmett," the figure says as he looks at Emmett and Aria. "I guess I'll have to go now. Let's see how long you can handle this upcoming horde," he adds before he suddenly disappeared. Confused, Emmett starts to process what had happened as Aria goes back to her relaxed state but then, they hear a growl outside of the walls.

     A group of hostile entities approaches them thirsty for blood. Alert, Aria quickly goes to battle stance as Emmett prepares himself from the incoming wave. The two start to hack and slash every enemy as they try to make sure no entities reach the people of the Three World Empire. "Good thing the walls are far away from the city," Aria says to Emmett. "Stop talking and fight!" Emmett replies to her. Aria agrees and both are attacking. Eventually, both Aria and Emmett become exhausted. "No," Aria mutters. The entities start to get closer to them to deal the final blow but then a spear is thrown which hits one of the entities and makes the entities move back a little.

     Shocked, Emmett looks to the location of the thrown spear and sees a man with a group of the army. The spear suddenly is moved towards the man who grabs it. "Looks like you'll need help," The man with a bronze Corinthian helmet and cloak and a warrior kilt says. "You think?!" Aria replies to the man. "Gangresians, attack!" The man shouts as he charges with the Gangresian army. The man and his army manage to beat the incoming entities as Aria and Emmett fall back to recover and to watch the battle. "Looks clear," the man says to himself before going to check Emmett and Aria. "Thank you, Miron Vitaleas," Emmett tells the man. The man looks then smiles telling them that he'd happily help.

CHAPTER 2-2: "Gangresian Might"

     "So, what happened here?" Miron asks. "We came here as soon as we heard the explosion while patrolling," he adds. "A figure exploded the walls," Emmett says. "He seems fond of me," he replies. "In what way?" the Miron asks. Emmett explains what had happened while they were still yet to arrive. Miron looks at them then looks outside to see if the army he was with is recovering well. "You really like showing off that scar on your chest, huh?" Aria jokingly says to Miron. Miron laughs it off and tells her that it shows how he would never be afraid in fighting for his empire.
