CHAPTER 4: "Tragic Times"

CHAPTER 4-1: "Emmett's Past"

    During the night, Emmett is having a hard time sleeping. The words of Lorena bother him so much that she gets a vision of her saying, "Great troubles are coming for you." And wakes up all of the sudden. "What did she mean?" he asks himself. He stands up goes to the balcony of the place he is currently in. He looks up and sees the stars and the moon shining. He closes his eyes and breathes in and out before he opens his eyes and returns to his bed.

     When he returns to his bed, he sits down and begins to reminisce. He starts to visualize an important time in his past. When he was eight, he looked much different. His much more slender than muscular and much weaker than stronger. He was always looked down on by his classmates at school and was always behind everyone else. There was a point when he had enough negativity and starts to weep aloud. His mother came to his room after hearing him cry.

     "What happened?" his mother asked. "I can't take it anymore," young Emmett replied. "I'm a failure," he added. Young Emmett started to cry longer while his mother tried to comfort him as she thought of what to say. Later, his father came in. "What's with all the noise?" his father asked his mother. She told him what young Emmett says as Emmett cried beside her mother. His father closed his eyes, breathed in and out, and sat beside Emmett.

     "Hey, my little warrior," his father said to Emmett. "Don't say that!" Emmett said to his father. "I'm no warrior," he added. His father sighed and started to tell his story. He told Emmett how he was the same as him when he was little. He told him how everyone also saw him as a lost cause but he never cried. He told Emmett that he ignored the others and decided to focus on making himself better.

     "Years later, look at me now," his father said after everything a while ago. "I know things are not going your way but remember, a warrior never started strong. They start weak," he adds. Emmett laid down on his father's lap and then comforted him. His mother moved closer and started humming to calm her son down. Emmett stops to reminisce and becomes slightly relieved. He finally sleeps without anything bothering him.

CHAPTER 4-2: "The Sudden Attack"

     The next day, Emmett wakes up, wears his upper armor, which he removed when he sleeps and leaves his room. He finds Miron and the others looking at him as he leaves the room. "Did you sleep well?" Maximus asks Emmett. "Yes, indeed," Emmett replies. Maximus begins to talk straight to the point. "Do you think what Lorena says is true?" he asks Emmett. Emmett thinks, sighs, and then says, "In my opinion, she is partly saying the truth. She doesn't seem to be lying."

     "Whatever happens next, we have to be prepared," Emmett adds. The room becomes silent as the others begin to think. Suddenly, they hear a war horn that grabs their attention. They run outside and see Allus looking at them. "Had a nice rest?" Allus says. "No matter, I'm not here to chat," he adds. Portals start to summon everywhere which shocks everyone who sees them. "Time for a takeover!" Allus shouts before maniacally laughing. The portals start to summon entities that attack the civilians who returned after evacuation and which proceed to charge against the heroes.

     "Everyone split up!" Emmett shouts. "Defend the civilians!" he adds. The heroes start to part ways as they run to civilians who are being attacked. Emmett runs as he telepathically contacts the Three World Council. "Evacuate the towns!" Emmett says to the Three World Council. "We are on it!" the Three World Council say. The Three World Council starts to call in different heroes of Risinium, Merania, and Gangredos other than Emmett and the others to fight and to defend. "I guess we have to fight," a woman says after hearing the call.

     In Merania, a man is about to get killed by an entity but a crossbow bolt pierces and kills the entity from the shadows, a group of five figures emerges. "Defend Merania!" the woman says. "Yes, ma'am!' the four say. Ricon the Hunter, Otis the Tide Turner, Cristene the Pyromancer, Lizzie the Healer, and Amelia the Meranian Heroine who are the five figures who emerged from the shadows start to defend the citizens and fight the entities.
