Chapter 3: "The Risinium Attack"

CHAPTER 3-1: "Summoned Chaos"

     After the events of the attacks along the walls, they manage to block the walls and brought peace again to the Three World Empire. It has been three days after the attacks. Despite the peace, Emmett still could not get the feeling of uneasiness out of his system. He keeps on thinking about the figure who is fond of him. At night, he cannot even feel sleepy as the thought of the figure makes him wide awake.

     "The attacks stopped," Aria says to Emmett. Emmett looks at her and says, "I still can't get the feeling of uneasiness out of me." Aria wants to say something but she stops herself. Minutes later, a group of soldiers arrives in front of Aria and Emmett. "What's going on?" Emmett asks the soldiers. The soldiers inform Emmett that he is called by one of the leaders of Risinium, one of the three lands of the Three World Empire.

     He agrees and the soldiers escort him to Risinium alongside Aria. Aria and Emmett proceed to go to Risinium where he spots people doing each of their own duties while their children play around them. "Risinium, a land I've never seen for a while," Emmett says to Aria. "This place changed, huh?" Aria replies to Emmett. Emmett nods as they enter the gates of a palace. Inside the gates, he spots a man wearing imperial armor and Sparrow talking.

     "You called?" Emmett asks the man. "I see my men really got to you." The man replies then chuckles. Emmett and the man start to shake their hands before going straight to business. "What is it, Maximus?" he asks the man. "It's about the previous events in your part of the empire." He replies. Emmett starts to grow silent as both men's faces become serious.

     Emmett explains to Maximus what had happened. The figure, the woman, and the sudden attacks, he explains them all. Maximus grows silent as he tries to think of what has happened. "I wonder why they stopped," Maximus says to Emmett. "What are they up to?" he adds. "I got a bad feeling," Emmett replies. Meanwhile, Sparrow and Aria chat with each other as Maximus and Emmett talk.

     Hours of discussion later, Emmett and Aria alongside Sparrow decide to travel back to Merania as Maximus tells his men to escort them back. Despite their original plan, they stop as they all realize a portal opening behind them. As the portal opens and grows, the more it is noticed by the citizens of Risinium which nearly leads to panic. Maximus commands his men to evacuate and protect the citizens as Aria, Emmett, and Sparrow prepare their weapons. When the portal stops to grow a figure comes out. "It's you again," Emmett says as his eyes widen to the site of the figure.

     The figure looks at all of them as he grins menacingly in front of them. "Sorry for the delay." The figure says. "Now, prepare to fight!" he adds. Suddenly more portals open and their previous enemies come out of it. "Run!" Emmett says to all of them. They all run as more enemies summon and chase them. "They caught us off guard!" Maximus shouts. "Can you contact Merania or Gangredos telepathically?" he adds. "I'll try!" Emmett replies. "But we can't keep on running!" he adds. They all nod in agreement as they stop and turn back to fight the ones on their tail.

     They defeat those who have chased them but more comes to attack them. As Aria, Emmett, and Maximus slash their sword and Sparrow shoots his bow, they eliminate them one by one. Emmett manages to call in for help but the help tells him to stay put. "Reinforcement is coming!" Emmett says to them. "But we need to stand our ground!" The others start to hold their ground as Emmett looks around to see people running and some dying. He looks around to see Risinium's state but only to see people running in fear.

     Emmett tells Sparrow to help the soldiers out which Sparrow reluctantly complies with as he does not want to leave them. They manage to stand their ground as Sparrow slows down the enemies chasing the civilians. Despite their efforts, the portal is not closing and more comes out of it as the figure grins at them.
