Chapter 3: Arrival and a Friend

It had been a good few days on the back of Captain Gary the Lapras. Ahead of the Group of Lapras was the first sighting of the new continent. Saber looked down to see that the Metal Continent had started building taller buildings that cause the cities to resemble castles than the conventional tall buildings found anywhere else. A good comparison would be the Expedition Society building.

Captain Gary and the other Lapras arrived at the port. It all seemed incredible to the young Greninja as soon as he had gotten off of Gary's back. He thanked the Lapras for the good trip before heading to the city ahead of him. 

The main street from the dock lead to a city that everyone called Coal Town. It is the city that anyone traveling from the docks have to pass through in order to get to any other part of the continent.

As he journeyed through the town, he didn't notice where he was going and he suddenly ran into something knocking him to the ground. As he began to pick his bagup as well as the items that had fallen out, he accidentally touched a hand as he reached for his Expedition Society Handbook.

Looking up, he made eye contact with a Gardevoir. Unlike other Gardevoir, she had sky blue eyes instead of the normal red ones. It is a little known fact that it is normal for Gardevoir who have exceptional Psychic powers to have blue eyes instead of the normal red.

The two Pokémon felt their faces start to burn and quickly looked away from each other with the Greninja taking his handbook and placing it in his bag before standing up. He placed his bag on his back and turned to the Gardevoir.

"Hey, sorry for bumping into you like that, it's my first time here in the Metal Continent and I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

The Gardevoir stood up, dusting herself off. "I wasn't watching where I was going either. I had just arrived in this city myself." She then held her hand out, "My name's Kita what's yours?"

The Greninja shook her hand. "Saber. My name's Saber. What are you doing here?"

Kita motioned for Saber to follow her, which he did. As they walked, the Gardevoir told him that she was there to find a map of the continent to find her way to the new Expedition Society Guild.

"I'm trying to go there to make an expedition team in order to help those who can't help themselves." She then grabbed the strap of her bag and looked to the Greninja, "So why did you move all the way out here? You're not some exile are you?"

Saber stretched a little before answering. "I'm not an exiled Pokemon. I actually came here for a new start. I'm also seeking to join the Expedition Society."

They found themselves at a map stall where they both bought a wonder map. The two of them continued on their way before Saber noticed something off about something.

*GROWL*

The Greninja put a hand on his stomach and felt an embarrassed blush appear on his face. "Hey, you wanna find something to eat?"

The Gardevoir nodded before the two of them went to a street that had different cafes and restaurants. They stopped by a place that had many items from all around, from macarons to curry.

Saber decided to have the curry while Kita ordered a serving of onigiri. When their food arrived, the Greninja picked up the spoon and got himself a spoonful of the curry and the rice and placed the spoon in his mouth. His eyes widened and he couldn't stop himself from shoveling the dish into his mouth as he tasted the most delicious thing that his taste buds have ever had the pleasure of tasting.

Kita giggled at his actions as she ate her meal. The two of them were soon finished with their meals and left their compliments to the shelf. They walked on their way from the restaurant to a nearby building.

Saber looked at the building in confusion. "What is this place, and what's with the boxes on wheels?"

Kita gave him a sly smile. "That, my dear, is Carcoal Train Station. It is the place where trains can get from town to town pretty easily."

Saber still had no idea how any of that made sense, but he was going to just go along with it. They entered the station to find that there were multiple Pokémon that were waiting in line to get a ticket to ride the rails.

As they got in line saber noticed a sign that said that the wait would be 20 minutes. "This is going to take forever. How are these lines so long?"

Kita smiled back at him. "Here in the Metal Continent, we know how to que."

When they finally got to the ticket booth, the two Pokémon bought their tickets for Castleville, the town that the guild was at.

They boarded their train before the departure time. Saber was caught off guard when the train started moving. Saber was caught off guard, so he was thrown into the floor. Hearing laughter, he turned to see the Gardevoir trying, and failing, to stifle her laughter. The Greninja couldn't help but join in.

Once their laughter died down, the two Pokémon went to put their luggage in their rooms in the sleeper coach. They made their way to the food car to get their lunch. Saber ordered some curry and Kita ordered some small sandwiches that you would find at a tea party.

The Greninja looked to his companion. "Hey, since we're going to be joining the society, would you like to make an expedition team with me?"

Kita smiled at him. "Sure. I can count on you as my friend."

The two of them paused at that before Kita started apologising. "I am so sorry. I didn't mean to assume that we were friends."

Saber just gently nudged her. "It's alright. I actually would be honored to be your friend."

The two Pokémon finished up their meals before heading to the passenger coach. They soon sat in their seats and Saber looked out the window as Kita read a novel. They didn't even notice the fact that they were being followed by a couple of shifty Pokémon.
