chapter five: calm before the storm
"I will spare you guys the 'I told you so.'"
☽☽☽☽☽☽☽☽☽☽☽☽☽Olivia never considered herself athletic. She swore off sports after her incident playing little league baseball. Despite her promise, she loved sports. She would never miss a Seattle Mariners game.
Though he knew it was irrational, Charlie always blamed himself in a way. If he hasn't gotten her into baseball, then maybe her incident wouldn't have happened.
She wouldn't trade it though.
Running from base to base made her fast.
If she didn't make it to the base, then her team would lose.
Her sister was the base.
The car was the player trying to tag you out.
"BELLA!"

Despite nearly getting crushed by a car, Bella was fine. no scratches nor bruises. Charlie Swan, frantic as ever, burst into the emergency room. when the hospital called they had said his daughter had been in an accident. Daughter, not daughters.
He thought the worst but seeing Olivia in a chair and Bella sitting on the bed, he relaxed.
"Bells, are you alright," he asked franticly.
The nurse was shining a light in Bella's eyes, looking for any signs of head trauma. "I'm fine Dad, calm down," she said, still having the penlight in her line of sight. The nurse clicked the pen off and wrote something down in her chart and smiled at the younger girl.
"Ollie, are you-"
"For the twentieth time, I'm perfectly fine," the other brunette cut off her sister. Bella nearly got crushed by a car and she was worried about her? Sure, Ollie felt a little lightheaded and her heart was beating out of her chest but she wasn't the one nearly crushed by a car!
"You ran across the parking lot so fast. You should've done that!"
"Tyler's car was speeding towards you! Why the hell wouldn't I run?"
"I'm fine! You know you have to be careful or your aor-"
"Oh my god! I'm healthy! I have been for years, Bella!"
Neither of them noticed Dr. Cullen come into the ER and pick up Bella's chart nor did they notice his furrowed brows when the girl in the chair had insisted she was healthy.
Dr. Cullen seemed nice but odd like the rest of his family. While she appreciated him tending to Bella something about the doctor unnerved Ollie. She got nauseous looking at him, and then an overwhelming sense of heat in her chest when he touched the back of her twin's head. Olivia brought one leg up into the seat, laying her temple against it, and slowed her breathing. She was trying to not puke on Dr. Cullen's shoes. Though her father didn't miss her distress.
