Few years past, Avis is now 7. She dragged herself out of bed and forced herself to the bathroom, she aggressively brushes her teeth making her gums bleed, as usual, her front two teeth were replaced with small stubs as they were just growing through. When she is done she walks into the Hallway. She looks at her parents room, messy, chaotic, scary she thinks. It reminds her of their relationship.
Her brunette curls springs with life, unlike her. She slowly creeps down the stairs making sure not to wake anyone. One of the wooden hollow stairs was broken, she's scared to fall in it when she walks down. Above the stairwell a mixture of moss and mould, a damp aroma filled the air.
As she's downstairs she walks past the sofa pushing herself to the kitchen, there was glass all over the kitchen floor, all sorts of colours from dark greens to browns and reds and saturated blues, she doesn't even need to look where it is, she has almost memorized where each piece is. Some of the glass shone from whatever is left of the window which lead to garden. The garden was filled with over grown plants that had spread across the whole house. Her auburn coloured eyes sceptically squinted at the sun. She was told never to go out in the garden.
She picked up a broken alcohol bottle and filled it up with water in the sink. She gulped at the water until it was all gone. She walked along the shattered floor to a room that she believed was haunted, the walls were coverd in rust, some of it was a burgundy red and some rust splats were almost bright red. Sometimes if you looked hard enough you'd see green weeds poking through the gloom.
She entered the dark room and opened the fridge which lit the room for a few seconds, then the light started to flicker. She wasn't supprised or scared by this. Not anymore. She lazyly pulled her slim arm up and tugged an apple out of the cool plastic rapping. She stuffed it into her mouth as she closed the fridge door. There was no more light.
Once more she stepped into the kitchen and walked into the front room. She threw herself onto the sofa. She tugged out some of the stuffing out of boredom.
Her mother soon woke up and walked her way down stairs and once again seeing her child already dressed and good for the day.
"Look at you, already to face the world, good job Avis" She smiled proud of her daughterThis repeative course went on for years.
