Emma's POV:

We have a lot to discuss

The private investigators words rang out in the room. It was so silent you could hear a pin drop. A feeling of hope filled my body as he spoke those words. Maybe he found Nori! Maybe he's found a lead! Maybe he's found the identity of the person who took her. But with that hope, a crippling wave of fear washed over me. What if he's found her body? What if she's gone for good? If Nori isn't found alive, I don't know what I'll do. She's my person. She owns my heart. If I can't bring her home... No Emma don't think like that! She'll come home to you.

I leaned forward, resting my elbows on the table, my fingers interlaced in front of me.

"What did you find James?" I asked.

He sighed and flipped through the file.

"What didn't I find is the better question. I was able to get ahold of the CCTV footage from bakers street. We know she decided to stop at the little café on the corner, Java love, for a morning cuppa before work. The footage shows her going in and coming out five minutes later. The footage is grainy but her movements are hurried and she looks distressed. And in the footage, I saw a man walking right behind her with an object pressed against her back. It looked like a gun but I couldn't tell for sure. Like I said, its grainy but its there. Now the first time I went over the footage, I couldn't see his face. So I replayed it in slow motion and at exactly 7:52 am, I was able to pause it and see his face. He glanced up at the camera for a split second but its enough. Here. Take a look."

He showed me the CCTV photos he had printed and gave me a hard drive of the footage to watch for myself. I snatched the photos and saw the man, clear as day. Or as clear as I could with the grainy image. But it was clear enough.

"You- You have a picture of the man who took her?! Thats! Oh my god thats amazing! James oh my god! Thats him! We have proof!" I exclaimed, trying not to cry in relief.

"It is wonderful yes. But theres more. I was able to do some digging and found out his name. Dom, I wouldn't be surprised if you knew the identity of this man. He's an ex copper. Names Keeton O'Brian.

"No." I whispered. "So thats why the police won't do anything! They're protecting him!"

"Oh I know DCS O'Brian. I hate to say it, but it doesn't surprise me. He's never been one to have an even temper." Dom spat.

"Keeton O'Brian... I've heard that name before. Not from the police." I said, shutting down James and Dom right away. "Nori mentioned him once. Something about..."

Flashback:
January 18th 2018
"Ello love!" I called from the kitchen table where I was sat reading over a case. I had finished the Kevin Russell case back in September and had moved on to a lesser known case.

"Em? Baby I need to talk to you about something. It's important." Nori called back, setting her bag down before making her way into the kitchen to talk with me.

Her soft but strong arms wrapped around me in a tight hug, which I leaned into and kissed her cheek. It was wet with tears which took me aback as Nori only came home in tears when a patient she was close to had passed away.

"Darling are you alright? Did you have a rough day at work?"

She nodded and slid down next to me, resting her head on my shoulder.

"A patients son... the patient came in today for diagnosis, which sadly turned out to be stage four lung cancer, and the son took it out on me. And normally, that doesn't affect me..."

I wrapped an arm around her and pulled her a little closer.

"Why did it affect you so much today? What else happened my love?" I asked gently, running my fingers through her long platinum blonde locks.
