Nori's POV:
Where am I? Whats going to happen to me? He was right. Dark basement of sorts. No windows. Wet wooden floors. I can only hear the sounds of sharpening weapons. Its all I've heard for so long. I don't even know how long I've been gone. I miss Emma. I miss my patients. I miss my bed. My family. Connie and Zack. My siblings. All I know is I'm in his safe house and he comes down a few times a day to do... horrid things to me. I think its been over two weeks. But who's to say? With no windows, I never know what time it is. I just hope Emma finds my Diary. Ever since Keeton O'Brian had threatened my life, I had been doing as much research as possible. He's an ex copper. The police won't do anything. Unless Emma calls DCS Greenwood. She's in MI6. Special intelligence. She might be able to help. But the longer I'm down here, the more I lose hope.
In that diary, I was able to find the address of his safe house. I put it down in there. Assuming it doesn't fall into the wrong hands, I could be saved.
*slam*
The door opened, letting in a feint flash of light.
This time however, there was more than one man. Keeton, and a man I didn't recognize.
"Ello love! 'Ope you don't mind. I brought a friend to join me."
"N-No! Please don't!"
A hard blow to my head and everything went black.
Emma's POV:
Mr. Lee opened the door for me and ushered Dom and I inside, locking the door behind us.
"Look I 'avent much time but earlier today, there was a man in 'ere askin about Nori. I'm not sure whats going on but he rubbed me the wrong way. Now, in most cases, I'd turn this over to police. But the man in 'ere was acting too strange. I've seen the missing posters, the pleas you've made on TV with Dr. Whites family. And well... Dr. White 'olds a special place in my 'eart. She was my wifes oncologist. Went out of 'er way to offer support to my family, makin sure my wife and kids were well taken care of. And the night my wife passed, she sat with my children in the 'allway 'oldin their hands as their mum passed in the room. Your girlfriend is a good woman. I wanna do my part to make sure she's found." He said tearfully.
I gave him a reassuring hand squeeze and took the diary from him.
"Thank you Mr. Lee."
"You're welcome love. I also wanted to tell you. The staff love Nori as well. They've all volunteered to 'elp search for 'er."
I looked up at him, the disbelief clear on my face as he shared a smile and hollered for everyone to come on out.
And one by one, 12 employees emerged from the back of the shop, all offering sincere smiles.
"We love Dr. White."
"She always made conversation with us. Always making sure we were doing ok."
"She helped my mum through Chemo. She's cancer free thanks to Dr. White."
And one by one, everyone shared their testimonies about Nori and how they cared for her.
"Thats not all." One of the baristas said, moving to open the back door.
Twenty more people shuffled into the room, some were patients, some were their families, others were just concerned citizens.
"We have about forty more volunteers, but they're all at the police station, trying to convince the chief to reopen the case as kidnapping and not a runaway." Curtis said.
I looked at Dom with tears in my eyes and couldn't control myself when the happy tears fell.
"You have no idea how much this means to me. To her family. We... We had to bury an empty casket. And it feels wrong because she's out there. Thank you all. We know who took her. Do any of you know Keeton O'Brian? Ex copper. He was seen on CCTV footage escorting Nori out with a gun pressed against her back." I said.
They began whispering, glancing around at each other when a hush fell over the crowd of people as a woman stepped forward. Her hair had fallen out and she looked sickly. She was a patient of Nori's.
"Keeton O'Brian? He's my son." She said heartbrokenly.
"I hired James Horace. He's a PI and he went over the CCTV footage and found a shot where you can see the mans face. He identified him as Keeton O'Brian. And based on an incident that happened between him and Nori, I have reason to believe it was him."
The woman shed a few tears and nodded.
"I will help in anyway I can Miss Banville. Your Dr. White has been beyond amazing to me and my family. Is there a time or place you wish to meet to discuss this?" She asked.
I smiled sadly and held her frail hand gently.
"I'll come to you. You have my number?" I asked gently.
She nodded and wiped her eyes again.
"Good. Give me a call tomorrow around 10. I'll meet you at your home."
"Thank you Emma. You're just as genuine as Dr. White."
I smiled and nodded before turning to everyone else.
"If it is amenable to all of you, I would like to meet with you all here on Friday at five pm. I will share what information I have on Nori's case and maybe, if the police come through, we can start searching for her."
"Yeah!" They shouted.
I shared a smile with Dom and we thanked everyone before departing.
I let Dom drive home so I could start reading her diary.
Most of it was about Nori's day. I found a page from a year previous admitting her feelings for me, which made me cry.
"Oh Nor..."
Apparently Dom had noticed my tears because he asked me what was wrong. I shook my head.
"I found a page from a year ago of Nori admitting her feelings for me. It was a few weeks before we got together. I... I miss her so much Dom!" I cried.
He put his hand on my shoulder.
"I know Em. But we'll get her back soon ok? We have seventy people helping us search."
I nodded, wiped my tears, and kept reading.
I wanted to be thorough so I shut it and went straight up to bed to finish reading it. Don left when we arrived back to my flat which I was more than ok with. I wanted to be alone for this.
I grabbed Nori's sweatshirt from the closet, put if on for bed, and began reading everything.
