-EEmma's POV:
"E-Em?"
I looked up to find my favorite emerald green eyes cracked open just enough to stare right through my soul.
"She's awake. I'm gonna get her family." Dom said softly, moving out the door.
"Em? I-is it really y-you?" She rasped.
I nodded, trying but failing to stop the flood gates from opening when she spoke again.
"You f-found me?" She was smiling with cracked dehydrated lips as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"I found you. You're safe. They can't hurt you anymore. You're safe. I'm so sorry Nor. I didn't protect you like I was supposed to. I'm supposed to keep you safe. I love you Nori. I love you so much. I will never let anything happen to you again. No one will ever hurt you again." I swore, shaking as I tried to keep myself from breaking down in front of my traumatized girlfriend.
"Nori?" Her mum whispered, tears streaming down her face.
"Mum?" She whispered.
"Yes sweetheart. I'm here. We're all here. Me, daddy, Connie and Zack, and Emma's here too. Emma found you."
She smiled as best she could and I moved so her mum could sit with her.
"I'll be out here." I smiled, patting her mums shoulder.
"N-No."
I looked back to see Nori weakly reaching for me. My heart melted and broke at the same time.
"P-Please stay." She whispered as a tear rolled down her cheek.
I nodded and moved back to her. Her mum kissed her cheek and vowed to come back later.
"Mum w-wait." She called out softly.
Her mum turned to face her with a softness I had never seen before.
"Yes love?"
"D-Don't let Connie and Zack i-in here. I d-don't w-want them to see me l-like this. W-wait til I'm h-home ok?"
"Ok."
Her mum left after that and I refused to let her hand go. I couldn't hug her. I couldn't hold her. She would have at least a three day hospital stay from this if not more. But I'm not leaving her side. Not after this.
"F-funny." She sniffled.
I looked up at her, my stomach dropping at her words. Nothing about this was funny. She must have seen the panic in my eyes because she weakly placed her other hand over our intertwined ones.
"They m-must've taken it from me. W-when they took me." She said.
I moved as close as I could to her.
"Took what darling?"
She paused for a moment.
"My ring."
What ring? Nori doesn't wear rings. She only wears her Claddagh ring and that was on her when she came to the hospital.
"Oh darling the staff took your Claddagh ring when you went in for surgery. They took all your piercings out too. They're in a bag waiting for you." I promised.
She shook her head.
"Not that ring." She whispered weakly. "I bought y-you a ring. I was g-going to propose to y-you the night t-they took m-me." She confessed.
I was speechless for a moment. She was going to propose. We were supposed to go out that night. On a date. We hadn't had a date in forever. And she was going to take me out.
"You wanted to m-marry me?" I whispered. I couldn't believe it. "But I failed you Nor. I failed you." I was crying now, harder than before.
She gripped my hand tighter.
"You didn't fail me at all. You saved my life. And I have to corrected you. I want to marry you. That hasn't changed to wanted. I still very much want to marry you. When I'm better."
"Well its a good thing I bought a ring." I replied wiping my tears. "But I'm not proposing to you in a hospital bed. Maybe in our bed."
She giggled but that turned into a coughing fit sooner rather than later.
A nurse came back in with the surgeons to brief Nori. My baby was exhausted but the look of fear in her eyes when they asked about a rape kit was one I never wished to see again.
I immediately kissed her head and gave her hands a squeeze.
"You do not have to do this. There is more than enough evidence to convict them."
She shook her head.
"Em, there was more than two. They need to be arrested too. I d-don't want t-them-" she cut off with a sob. "H-Harming other w-women!"
"Ok. Ok love. Its your choice." I cooed, tracing small patterns over her hands with my thumbs.
She took a moment to collect herself before turning to the doctors.
"I'll do it. You have my consent. But I want Emma here. I can't do it alone." She whimpered.
"I'm not leaving my love. I'm right here." I promised.
She nodded.
"Ok."
