3 weeks, two days, 23 hours.
That's how long it's been since the encounter that changed my life.
Its memory is always stuck in the back of my mind, but it doesn't affect me as much during the day as it does when I'm trying to sleep.
I roll over in my small bed, directing my gaze to the stars outside my window. The clear night sky is a little difficult to see through the lights that illuminate the UA campus. It honestly irritates me most of the time because I love to look at the stars.
Now, though, I don't have the energy to enjoy what I can see.
I shuffle around again and resort to staring at the ceiling. I find it more boring than the sky and find myself drifting off again.
...
The sun rises, irritating me enough to wake up.
'Stupid sun.'
I roll out of bed and onto the floor. Slowly, I stand and walk to the closet. After changing into my uniform, I head down to the common rooms to eat breakfast with my classmates.
"Morning (l/n), how are you this morning?" Uraraka asks, smiling with a wave. I smile back at my friend and reply with my usual fine. After all, who actually tells the truth. Don't we all just say fine, no matter what?
I sit at my place at the table, right in between Sero and Shoji. We pass plates and bowls around, and everyone helps themselves to the available food.
I grab some fruit and a waffle for breakfast and pour myself a glass of...Crimson Riot super fruit breakfast drink?
"DId Kirishima do grocery shopping last?"
"How could you tell?" Shoji asks. I show him the carton and he chuckles. I pass the carton to Sero and begin eating.
Breakfast passes quickly and before I know it Iida is yelling at everyone to get their school bags. I put my plate in the dishwasher and rush to my room to grab my bag.
Once I get to the main doors, I leave, telling my friends I want to get to class early. They accept it without further explanation.
It doesn't take long to get to class. The hallways are mostly empty, save for the odd teacher doing some early morning preparations.
I easily find the giant door labeled 1-A that I've entered many times before. The classroom on the other side is completely empty, even Aizawa isn't present.
I sit at my desk, seat 18, and decide to finish up the homework for English class.
Just as I finish the last question on the paper, my classmates start filing into the room. Bakugo takes his seat in front of me and I try to start a conversation with him. He doesn't respond, but Toru and Mina come up to me before I can feel sad about it.
"TEA CHECK!" they announce, Mina holding her sparkling teal notebook and glitter pen.
"Sorry girls, I don't have any tea today," I reply.
"Really? Nothing at all," Toru whines.
"No new relationships? No new ships? No interesting rumors?" Mina questions, somehow getting a little closer with each new question.
"No, nothing, really," I repeat, pushing the pink-haired girl away from my face. The girls seem disappointed for a moment. Then a smirk makes its way onto Mina. I shudder, knowing exactly what that smirk means.
"How about you?" she purrs, "do you have a little crush?"
"Not really."
"How about a fateful encounter to share?" Toru adds. Though she's invisible I can still practically see her wiggling her eyebrows.
I immediately think back to the alley incident. The girls note my pause and start squealing in excitement.
"Tell us everything. We need all the details." The girls bombard me with questions that I don't know how to answer. Thankfully, the bell rings and Aizawa walks into the classroom. Mina and Toru practically teleport to their seats the moment the door opens.
"Alright, let's get started."
...
I spend lunch with my friends, Todoroki, Iida, Tsu, and Uraraka.
"So, any plans for the weekend guys?" Uraraka asks, taking a bite of her rice.
"I will be spending the weekend with my family. I've been allowed to train at my brother's agency." Iida explains.
"My parents are finally back so we'll be having a family day, kero," Tsu adds.
I remember that her parents both work abroad often, so it must be relieving to have them back again.
"What about you Todoroki? Kero."
"I'll be staying in the dorms." He says with his usual monotone voice.
"You do that a lot, is everything alright at home?" Uraraka asks.
Todoroki shakes his head but refuses to elaborate when we question it further. I figure it must be pretty personal so I try not to pry too much. The others seem to come to the same conclusion so we just move on with the conversation.
"I don't have any plans this weekend so I'll be staying in the dorms too. We can hang out and watch movies, Todoroki." Uraraka says with a bright smile. Todoroki nods and continues to slurp his cold soba.
"What about you, (l/n)?" the brunette asks.
I think for a moment. I don't recall having any plans this weekend, but I always forget something.
"I don't have anything special planned, but I'll still be going home." I decide. The others nod, none of them surprised in the slightest.
The bell rings and we all get ready to head to hero training. I'm honestly not excited for it today, I don't know why.
I don't dwell on it.
Instead, I walk to class, happily chatting with my friends.
