Chapter 6

Aizawa paces frantically in the principles office at UA. Nezu had just given him the unfortunate news, that his student is officially missing.

"The entire area has been searched, but no one has found even a trace of Miss. (l/n), so we'll be canceling the investigation and reporting her as legally dead," the creature explains, his usually calm expression painted on his face. Aizawa, on the other hand, has an expression of fear.

It's his fault. He knows that. 

He was the one who arranged the training exercise. 

He was the one who decided that the building should collapse. 

He was the one who sent children into an unstable building. 

He put his students in harm's way, and now one of them is paying for his mistake. 

After more panicked thoughts, the sleep-deprived man makes a decision.

"Fine," he says, "I'll search for her myself."

The dorms are quiet, filled with an awkward silence. The students of class 1-A each wear a solemn expression, though many try to disguise it with fake happiness. 

It's been a week since their classmate and friend sacrificed herself for the sake of her teammates. As far as any of them know, she could be dead. 

They haven't received many updates on the incident. The matter hasn't even been released to the public to preserve UA's reputation. This fact enraged some of the more passionate students, and a few of the more passive ones as well. 

The students that feel the worse about the situation are Mineta, Momo, and Sato.

"That's it!!" A loud voice cuts through the silence. All eyes turn to the explosive blonde who stands near the kitchen. He's holding his red-haired companion's wrist tightly, glaring at the 'extras' in the room. 

"Sulking does nothing," he says, "If you want her back, we have to go get her ourselves."

Murmurs spread throughout the room. The students agree, but they remain hesitant. 

Just as Sato opens his mouth to say something, another voice interrupts him. 

"I agree." 

Everyone turns in shock to their tired teacher. Normally, he'd be highly against allowing his students to involve themselves in such an investigation. 

Sensing his student's confusion, Aizawa explains the situation.

"The entire building has been searched multiple times, but they haven't found any trace of (l/n). Nezu has canceled the investigation, and the commission has declared her legally dead. So, if we want to find her, we need to search for her ourselves. We won't be breaking any laws by searching since we're not interfering with the police or heroes. Even so, I want everyone who decides to search for (l/n) to search in groups of at least three. Understood."

The students frown at the announcement. How could they just cancel an investigation like that? How many other people are alive and suffering because the heroes gave up?

"We'll find her!" Momo announces. The attention turns to the determined girl. 

"The only reason (l/n) is missing is because she sacrificed herself so we could get out safely. I can't help but blame myself," her voice softens, and a small frown appears on her lips, "I was useless, and now she's paying for it."

"You weren't useless, we all hold some blame," Sato speaks up, a somber expression on his face as well, "she made sure that we got out safely but we didn't return the favor. We should do what we can now."

"Yeah, I mean, what could we do?" Mineta adds, "we couldn't even fight anymore."

"He's right. You guys needed Recovery Girl by the time you got to us," Aizawa explains, "none of you hold any blame. Even heroes can't save everybody, so save the ones you can."

"Right."

And so, the students and their teacher got to work making groups.

4 groups of 4 students each, and 1 group of 3.

Momo, Jiro, Kirishima, and Uraraka will search the mall and surrounding areas. 

Mineta, Kaminari, Sero, and Mina will search the eastern half of the city.

Todoroki, Tsu, Hagakure, and Aoyama will search the western half of the city.

Bakugo, Koda, Ojiro, and Iida will search around UA.

Sato, Shoji, and Tokoyami will further search the training grounds where (l/n) was buried in the rubble. 

And so, their search begins.

From that day forward, the search is in full swing. Every free moment the students have is spent searching for their missing classmate. 

They're determined to find (y/n) (l/n).

They will find her.
