The lobby of Wayne Industries is fairly empty. The only people in sight are the receptionists, and they don't look overly happy to be up at Six. Tim Drake especially doesn't want to be here, not this early at least. He hasn't even had his first cup of coffee yet, because it was unceremoniously left on his bedside table.
He smiles as he walks past people, meeting eyes and humming good mornings. Only a few people smile back at him. It's early, but already he's reminded not everyone is as cheery as his assistant is.
The elevator to his office on the top floor is pretty empty. A few interns gawk at him with wide eyes. They're all early college students, vying for a place to expand their majors.
"It's Miya, right?" He asks one, who looks more shocked that he knows her name than the idea that he's riding in the elevator. A lot of people have that reaction, he's gotten used to it by now. A lot of people get shocked when he's out of the office as if he lives and sleeps in it. "Miya... Carlisle?"
"Yes," She breathed nodding. Her awkwardness seems to subside in seconds as she straightens, tucking strawberry blonde hair behind her ear. Her nails are painted a deep tan. She switches her folder of documents from one arm to the other. "Can I do anything for you, Mr. Drake?"
"It's Tim," He chuckled, shaking his head. "And I was just curious on why you were heading up to floor fifty."
"Oh, Miss Malfatto asked me to bring up some files for her," She smiled, nodding. "She's got her hands full with her job shadow,"
"Job shadow?"
"Oh yeah, her little sister I think," She stepped out as the doors opened. The waiting room was quiet, surprisingly. Which was pretty unusual, given Clementine liked to play music in the mornings.
"Ah, I'll take those then, let you get back to your work," He smiled charmingly as he reached out to take the file. His fingers intentionally brushed her hand as he took the yellow folder imprinted with the golden W. Her cheeks were nearly as bright as her hair as she eagerly handed it over.
The clicking of her heels back to the elevator was bliss. Interns were nice, no question, but they smothering. They never knew if the job was permanent or not and they wanted to make their impression as fast as possible. It was unfortunate that sometimes they just did too much.
