"You are not going out with Dallas Winston." Soda said, walking over to me.

"I am, Soda." I replied, crossing my arms and looking up at him. All of my brothers were taller than me, but I didn't care. Just because I was short didn't mean I couldn't fight.

"That's what all those hickeys are from? Seriously?" He exclaimed.

"Soda, we're in love." I responded.

"He doesn't know how to love, Priscilla. He just knows how to fuck." Soda exclaimed, pointing a finger at me.

"Sodapop! Language!" Darry scolded, but Soda didn't care.

"That's not true!" I yelled, my eyes filling up with tears as I shoved him.

"Yes it is. I've known him a lot longer than you have, Pris. You don't know what you're gettin' into. What if you got pregnant? D'you think he'd be a good dad? Do you?" Soda asked angrily, getting into my face.

"Sodapop Patrick, that's enough!" Darry yelled, sending a sharp swat to Soda's backside. He yelped and stepped away as I stood there feeling small and sad. "I don't like it either but Pris has already had a rough mornin' and frankly right now you're just bein' an asshole, so knock it off!"

"I'm sorry, Dar." Soda responded sheepishly, hanging his head in shame. I was still feeling pretty hurt by all that he'd said, and I think he realized that because he came over to me and hugged me. "I'm sorry, Pris."

"You're a dick." I responded, but let him hug me. I felt him nod as he planted a kiss on the top of my head before pulling away.

"Pris, go get ready so we can run down to the convenience store." Darry said, shooting a small glare at Soda obviously warning him not to say anything. Soda shrugged at Darry and went back to sitting beside Pony.

I didn't really care about what I was wearing, but my hair was an absolute mess, so I brushed it out and put it into a low ponytail. Quickly, I brushed my teeth and pulled on my converse.

"I'm ready." I said to Darry, who was standing by the door with the keys already in his hand. He nodded and we walked out of the door.

I only now just realized that I would have to sit the whole car ride, and I groaned.

"Dar, can we walk?" I asked, picking at my cuticles.

"No, Pris." He chuckled, getting into the front seat. "Just 'cause I'm not mad doesn't mean you don't deserve to sit on your sore ass for a while."

I groaned but pulled myself up into his truck, gently sitting down and wincing as my ass came in contact with the seat. Darry chuckled from beside me and I rolled my eyes at him.

"Sure, this is funny to you." I groaned, buckling my seatbelt and shifting uncomfortably.

"It is," He responded. "You deserved it anyway. God, Pris, you act like I took the hairbrush to your ass."

"It hurts, Dar." I whined. He was being an ass and I was tired of it.

"It was supposed to. Hell, maybe you'll listen to me this time." He chuckled.

"I usually listen to you." I replied, turning away from him. I barely got any sleep last night since I was, well you know. I rested my head on the cold window and closed my eyes.

"Hah. Sure." Darry snorted, turning up the radio. The Beatles were playing, and I groaned. The Beatles were okay, but I definitely preferred Elvis. I mean, how could you not?

Finally, we arrived at the DX.

"Can you just go in and get it for me, Dar?" I asked, blushing and staring down at my lap.

"No, you gotta deal with the consequences of your actions." He said, opening the door. "C'mon."

I rolled my eyes and stepped out of the truck, glad that the pressure was off of my ass. As we walked in, I groaned and almost turned and walked out - Steve was working.

"Hey, Dar." He said, looking up from the cash register for half a second. "Need somethin'?"

"Yeah, we're lookin' for pregnancy tests." Darry said, and I could have died right there and then.

"Oh." Steve said, raising an eyebrow at me. "Okay. They're right here." He pulled a box from below the cash register and set it on the counter. "So. Who's the father?" Steve joked, but was shut down with an icy look from Darry.

"Just ring it up, Steve." He said shortly, crossing his arms. I was fighting the urge to sprint out of the store as soon as possible.

"For you my friend, free." He said with a grin, handing it to me. I rolled my eyes.

"Someone kill me." I muttered under my breath, but took the box. Darry shot me a stern look to show me heard what I said, and I turned and walked out of the store. Nothing could have made that moment more embarrassing and I just wanted to go home and never leave. Ever.

"You shouldn't say stuff like that, Priscilla." He said sternly when we got in the truck, pointing a finger at my chest. "I know that wasn't fun for you, but it wasn't fun for me, either. And you sayin' shit like that is not gonna get you out of trouble."

I nodded and leaned away, really not wanting to dig myself a deeper hole. "I'm sorry, Dar." I said, looking down at the cup holders between us.

"You're forgiven." He said with a sigh. "Let's go home." I nodded and looked out the window. This was the longest day of my life and I wasn't enjoying it.

We finally got home, but before I got out of the truck Darry stopped me.

"Okay." He said with a sigh. "No matter what the test says, I love you and I'm here for you. If it's positive, I'll be angry, but we can get through this, okay, Priscilla?"

"Okay, Dar." I responded.

"Okay." And with that, we got out of the car. I carried in the box and went straight to the bathroom, ignoring my brothers the best I could. Truth was, I was insanely nervous.

I quickly peed and called Darry in to wait. I really didn't want to wait alone and I was glad that he waited with me.

Finally, the test was ready. I looked at it and sighed.

Negative.

"Yes!" I exclaimed, turning and hugging Darry. He let out a large sigh, hugging me back.

"I'm glad it's negative, but if you ever pull a stunt like this again I'll spank you into next year." He threatened, lessening his threat with a kiss on top of my head. I blushed, but threw away the pregnancy test.

Suddenly, the screen door slammed.

I figured it was Two-Bit, so I walked out into the living room. To my surprise, it was Dally.

"Hey, darlin'." He said with a smile.

"Dal!" I exclaimed, running to his arms.

"So, Steve told me somethin' and I wanted to come see you." He said, looking at my stomach.

"Oh!" I exclaimed, crossing my arms over my stomach. "I'm not pregnant." I laughed.

"Oh, God." He sighed, hugging me again. "If you were I'd support you, but I'm damn glad you're not." He kissed the top of my head and I snuggled into him.

I sat down on the couch and ushered Dally over to sit by me. My ass still hurt, so I rested my head on his lap and lay on my side.

Darry sat down in his chair and sent me a look. I smiled sweetly at him and nuzzled into Dally as he gently played with my hair. I saw Dar's look soften a little at how sweet Dally was acting and it made me happy.
