Katie's POV
*On her way home*

I can't believe she stayed after school and waited for me!!

She's literally perfect in everyway imaginable!

With her dark brown hair with little blonde highlights every now and then with those light emerald green eyes.

She's got almost like an hourglass body type.

She wears glasses with a black frame.

She has a perfect style too. She is always ready for anything with whatever she's wearing. It's amazing.

She has 3 piercings on her left ear, and 2 on the right. The left side of her nose if pierced.

Some might say we are both pretty, but I disagree.

I have very dark black hair and ocean blue eyes. I normally wear hoodies or oversized t-shirts.

I walk into my house and my dad is waiting by the door.

"WHERE WERE YOU YOUNG LADY???" he screams at me as soon as I step through the door.

"I had to stay after school for a few minutes to get some help from my math teacher," I say trying to stay calm and not cry.

"YOU SHOULD HAVE LET ME KNOW FIRST!!! AND YOU KNOW THAT!!!!" he screams as he slaps me hard right acrossed the face.

"I'M SORRY!" I say as I start crying.

I ran up to my room.

I hate him so much. Crap! I hope Luke isn't home!

I ran to Luke's room and saw him sitting on his bed crying.

"What's wrong Luke?" I ask him concerned.

"What was that sound? It sounded like someone got slapped. Are you okay?" He askes

Shit! I probably have a red spot on my face.

Luke is only 9 and he has to deal with this. Ever since Mom left, he's been going through some rough shit. We all have.

"Yeah, I'm okay. I don't know what that sound was, buddy."

"Then why was Dad yelling at you?"

"Because I forgot to let him know that I had to stay for a little bit after school. Hey, do you want to go get ice-cream with me and Layla?"

"Heck yes!!" He replies
