It had been six months since he joined UA. It was quite fun in his opinion. Most of his class didn't really like him that much though. They didn't really hate him either. They were just annoyed at his cockiness. He did have one friend though. Her name was Usagiyama Rumi. She had a rabbit quirk which gave her the attributes of a rabbit.
She was just like him- cocky and easy-going, but serious during a fight. They became quick friends after the first day of school and always hung out during lunch and sometimes after classes. It also helped that they both had a crazy sweet tooth.
The most exciting event of the year was the Sports Festival. Obviously, Gojo came first. Rumi did come second though. He mostly just used his speed, strength, and martial arts to wipe out the competition. He even used Red twice in the one-on-one matchups.
Then came the internships and with it, the need to pick hero names. Somehow, he had completely forgotten about that. He didn't really care much about it, but he had to pay attention because the name was going to be listed at the top of the chart one day. Rumi came up with 'Miruko' for some reason.
Gojo had spent some time thinking about it. He looked at the names of other pro heroes and what those names stood for. He then thought about his powers. How he was and still is the strongest. How he had been blessed with both Limitless and Six Eyes. How he had even cheated death after his first fight with Toji.
"Throughout the Heavens and Earth… I alone am the honoured one." he had muttered to himself at the time. After that, it only took him a few minutes of thinking to come up with a decent name.
The Limitless Hero: Infinity
It was pretty basic, but he liked it. The name represented his abilities and the fact that he had no limits. Not even death could limit him.
Currently, he was walking down one of the hallways of the school. He had been called to the principal's office for some reason. He hadn't done anything to warrant punishment, so he had no idea why he was being called down. When he reached the end of the hallway, he saw a large wooden with the words 'PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE' written on it.
He knocked on the door and asked permission to enter. A cheerful voice on the other side told him to come inside and so he did. Inside, he saw Nedzu sitting on an office chair behind a large desk that had a few papers scattered across it.
"You're here. Please take a seat. Would you like some tea?" Nedzu asked as he was pouring some tea into his cup. Gojo went ahead and sat on one of the chairs placed opposite to him.
"Yes, I could use a cup of tea. Please extra sugar. Also, please call me Gojo. sounds like you're referring to my father." Satoru replied cheerfully. Nedzu poured a second cup of tea and this time added an extra sugar cube and gave it to Gojo. They each took a sip from their cup before returning to the conversation.
"So… I assume you didn't call me here just to have a cup of tea, sir. What's up?" Gojo asked as he took another sip. He would have to ask the principal the brand of this tea. He liked it a lot.
Nedzu chuckled before replying. "No, I called you here to make an offer."
"What kind of offer?" Gojo asked with a puzzled look on his face.
"I was getting to that. As you know that the second and third-year hero course students have their Provisional License Exam next week." Gojo nodded. "Normally, the first-years aren't allowed to take the exam due to lack of practice and experience. But if the student has an exceptional performance, then…"
"So, you want me to take the exam?" Gojo concluded. He was somewhat surprised. He knew he would eventually get to the exam, but he thought he had at least a year before his exam came.
"You don't have to go if you don't want to. But I can tell that you have the potential to be a great hero, and this is a very rare opportunity" Nedzu finished.
"Of course, I'll go! It sounds fun" he replied with his signature smirk. Nedzu smiled.
"Perfect! Then please come to school this Sunday at 8 p.m. I shall personally take you to the exam site."
"You don't have to do that. Just send me with one of the other classes" Gojo said.
"Please, I insist. It has been a long time since a first-year has attempted the exam." Nedzu said with a tone of finality.
Gojo just sighed and nodded.
Gojo just got back home from the Provisional license Exam. He had passed and now had the authority to act like a Pro Hero in case of emergencies. Now, the only thing left to do was to review his performance.
After the second phase of the exam, each of the candidates was given an envelope which was an analysis of their overall performance. Apparently, each candidate had 100 points, to begin with, and points were deducted by the judges of the exam based on the candidate's performance.
He hadn't seen his report, but he probably got 100 points. He was Gojo Satoru, how could he not get a perfect score. He relaxed for some time and then sat down at his desk to read his report. Though he was shocked to see his score.
"What?..." he muttered to himself. He had been expecting a perfect score of 100 points, but instead, he got 70. He had never scored less than perfect on any exam in both of his lives, then why?...
He sat up a bit straighter and the lazy look on his face had turned into a serious one. He removed his blindfold, so he could give his full attention to the report. He had to know his mistakes and fix them quickly. He was the Gojo Satoru, the strongest jujutsu sorcerer, and future top hero.
First, he read through the things he got a perfect score in. These were mainly things like maintaining composure intense situations, efficiency at both rescue and when dealing with the villains. They also complimented his quick thinking and his ability to make decisions without any hesitation. They were also impressed with his combat prowess.
