James was mad, really mad. Moony had acted like a little child. Of course, he respected the relationship he and Padfoot had, of course, he was happy for her, and of course, he knew that something like this was possible. But he just didn't get it, Sirius was Griffindoor's womanizer and Remus was the unapproachable, mysterious Marauder. Every girl had had a crush on Remus at some point. James knew that better than anyone else. But he had simply been taken by surprise. But now he had a completely different problem, he should snog Regulus Black, he couldn't. He had made this bet out of carelessness and anger, but now he couldn't take it back anymore, a marauder kept his word. First, he decided that he needed to talk to Regulus again, he would come up with some reason that would compel Regulus to spend time with James. And then it dawned on James, he'd been a little early for the last Transfiguration class and had overheard the teachers talking about how young Black was having trouble changing people. So this was James' chance he was going to be a tutor. For Regulus Black alone, there would surely be a situation where he could...well...snog him. James felt his whole body tingle as if a huge surge of adrenaline was rushing through him. Why was he so excited when he thought about snogging his best friend's brother.

After dinner, he went to the front of the teacher's table and asked the Transfiguration teacher about the tutoring "I've had a lot of free time lately and I'd like to put it to good use. I heard in one of the last lessons that some of the younger students were having some problems with Transfiguration. And so I thought I could help these students."

"That's very commendable Mr. Potter," Professor McGonagall replied, "But you misunderstood a little, it's just one student, Regulus Black, you know him? ", James nodded.

"Would you also teach him? I know I can't expect that from every Griffindor student, after all, Mr. Black is from Slytherin..."

"That doesn't bother me. When and where should the lessons take place? "

"How about Wednesday and Friday, if that suits you, around seven o'clock in the Transfiguration classroom?"

"Perfect, thank you, Professor," James said.

"No, I have to thank you, Mr. Potter"

~Friday~

James was packing up his books to head to the Transfiguration class when Sirius walked into the room.

"Where do you want to go Prongs? Can I accompany you?"

"First Divination class, second no"

"Why not?". Sirius asked pleadingly, trying to put on a puppy dog look.

"Padfoot, you can't come. And stop making such stupid faces, it doesn't suit you and you can't do it either."

"Hey!" he exclaimed, laughing, "I'm the only one in Hogwarts who has the perfect puppy dog look mastered!"

"Okay," James murmured, "You still can't come with me."

"But why?!" Sirius whined.

"I'm meeting Regulus," he says curtly, then leaves. James sees Sirius' jaw drop and he stands there with his mouth open. Then Sirius turns and runs downstairs to the common room "Moony!" he calls out as he slowly disappears down the stairs.

Arriving in the classroom, he sees Regulus already sitting at one of the tables. He enters and grins at him.

"Great, it's you, Potter," Regulus said with a sarcastic undertone.

"Nice to see you too Reg" James grins, "And please call me James ok?"

Regulus snorts but then says after a moment "Can we start now...James?"

"Of course, I heard you have trouble turning people into other things like objects or animals."

"Yeah," Regulus grumbles.

"You can use me as a test object, go on, change something about me. You just have to think very carefully about all the things you don't like about me and then imagine a...um...teacup instead. And because you don't like me, you shouldn't have a problem with it"

"That's my first problem," Regulus murmurs so softly that James doesn't hear.

"What?" James asked, but got no answer.

"Come on, we don't have all night"

"Ok, ready?"

"Ready," James grinned. Why was he in such a damn good mood? Regulus stood and pointed his wand at James. He murmured the spell under his breath and James waited, but nothing happened.

"McGonagall said you only have trouble every now and then..." James said more to himself than to Regulus "Maybe you should come a little closer, your spell is probably too weak to reach me" Regulus took a few steps forward, again he tried to cast the spell, but nothing happened. He got closer and closer to James until finally they were standing face to face and Regulus couldn't even reach out his arm to perform the spell.

"It's not working," he murmured.

"Hey," James said softly, "It's not that bad." Then he just did it, bending down slightly and laying his lips on Regulus. He moved a little, then felt the back pressure from Regulus.
