An unearthy glow extended across the midnight sky, making the stars look brighter, more beautiful. The cliffs edge showed nothing but the sky, looking down she could see the whole forest. From were she sat, her paws just skimming the edge, she felt a rush of excitement. The tree tips looked so sharp and small bodies of water so calm. Almost reflecting the scene of the sky perfectly. No flaws.

The sound of thrumming wings caught her attention, almost startling her by the viciousness of its movements.

Finally a large hawk soared across the star littered sky, making her feel relieved that it hadn't seen her as an easy meal... Hawks were known to snatch smaller cats after all.

Getting to her paws, she walked a few fox - lengths away from the edge, stopping. A puzzled look washed over her face as out of the corner of her eyes, a haze was diffusing across the clearing.

Turning, she noticed the outline of a feline in the midst of the haze. "Hello Splashbelly." The voice rang, loud and booming, it sounded all around her. Swallowing the lump in her throat, she recognized that voice. Almost gasping as the cats features soon became visible the closer he got. His grey tabby pelt had a transparency to it, stars in his pelt.

"Ivoryheart, is that you?" She purred, rushing towards him and leaning in to lick his cheek and show affection towards her dead brother. Heart wretched as she noticed the closer she got, the colder he was. Her tongue just brushing air instead of the longing feeling for it to be her living brother again.

The starclan cats welcoming smile soon vanished, being replaced with a deep look of sorrow. "I have come to share something with you." He meowed bluntly, his voice solid and cold. Not like the carefree and fun feline she grew up with.

"I'm listening." She meowed, focusing on him. Is it a prophecy?
"I am afraid danger is near..." he meowed, his gaze clouding up with something unreadable.

" Lengthy claws are starving for bloodshed,
Join as one or die as many,
Listen to the flaming paw. "

Her deceased brother meowed, slowly, emphasising certain words.

"What do you mean? I don't understand." Splashbelly shook her head, searching his eyes. But he stared blankly ahead.

"You'll know." He meowed, the haze surrounding them beginning to thin out. Opening her mouth to speak, she was lost for words when she realized he vanished without another word. Not even a goodbye.

Tunnel vision, light - headed she stumbled backwards. A blurry vision of what looked like giant claws ripping through her sight. Letting out a yowl, the pain felt real... her vision faded out to all black before pure silence.

Jolting awake, her flanks heaved. Claws unsheathed and ears pinned to her head, somethings wrong. She thought to herself.
Stepping from her nest, she paced around. The sound of claws clinking on the stone cave surface lightly echoed around.

" Lengthy claws are starving for bloodshed,
Join as one or die as many,
Listen to the flaming paw. "

"What does it all mean?" She meowed silently to herself, a worried look plastered on her face. Why are messages from starclan so difficult...
