"How was your class today?" Serev asked Carys as they walked hand in hand down the hallway to their rooms.

"Boring again," Carys answered glumly. "They just keep testing me, they never teach me anything new. I thought this was going to be a lot more fun."

"I know honey, but they have to find out what you can already do before they can try to teach you anything new. Hopefully, they'll get to that soon," Serev temporized.

As they got closer to their rooms, Serev saw a familiar sight, Rek and Vic, headed towards them. "Hello Bishops!" she said with a nod of her head. She greatly admired them and hoped to be as much of a service to her new adoptive county someday.

"Hey Serev!" Rek called out, "And hello Carys," she added, bending down to look in her eyes. "Nope, still no change, you're still adorable."

Carys giggled and gave her a big hug. It was their standard greeting since the guest quarters they had put them up in were close by theirs.

"How are you holding up?" Vic asked her.

"I'm good, Gyrtek lets me spar in his yard and get some training in, and Carys is always a handful. But I think Tad and Flewin are getting a bit bored. Not too much for them to do until the trading house is done," she had felt bad for her little family, they wanted to be contributing as well but so far hadn't found much of a way to help.

"Actually, I think we may have a way for them to help," Vic said, sharing a look with Rek. "Can we talk to all you?"

"Absolutely, they should be in our rooms, so this is as good a time as any," Serev suggested.

Walking the last bit to their rooms, they entered to find Tad and Flewin sitting on the divan thumb wrestling. "See, they need something to do," Serev said with a chuckle over her shoulder to Rek and Vic.

"Sorry! We were a bit bored," Tad admitted. Flewin was also blushing in embarrassment.

"Have a seat, please. Carys, why don't you go see if any of the kitties are on the balcony?" Serev got everyone comfortable. The winged kitties were one of the best things about these rooms. Serev had nightly flying feline visitors, and had taken a special liking to a pair of almost identical white flying cats with white fur and black wings.

"We have some food here; we were just having some refreshments." Flewin pointed at a table near the divan which was filled with an assortment of cheese, crackers, and fruit.

"Thank you all," Rek said as she snared a few crackers and made little sandwiches with the cheese.

"So, what did you need our help with?" Serev asked, which got the attention of Tad and Flewin, it had to be more exciting than thumb wrestling.

Vic glanced at Rek, but she had her mouth full of crackers and just waved her on. "We have something loose in the city, but we're not sure what, and we're trying to track it down. So far, we haven't had any luck yet. But we're hoping that we could have you visit different inns and taverns looking for anything out of the ordinary, and then report to us if you do," Vic explained.

"What exactly would we be looking for?" Tad asked, confusion on his face.

"We don't know!" Said Rek, spraying a few cracker crumbs. "Sorry!" She waved to Vic once more.

"We're looking for a giant insect of some sort, according to what Alia saw. Perhaps three feet long, with many legs and a pincer," Vic said cautiously.
