Once I had told my mom and stepdad about Eric, my stepdad looked at me, almost as if he was hiding something. Well, maybe hiding something isn't the right way to say it, but I knew there was at least something he hadn't told me. He led me to the living room, where he finally broke the news to me, that I didn't even know about.

"Mike, there's something you need to know about Eric that I meant to tell you when your mom and I started dating." my stepdad told me, "I knew about Eric this entire time, because even though you're just now finding out about this, he's actually your stepbrother. I'm sorry I waited so long to tell you."

"Why are you sorry?" I asked, "This is amazing! I have a stepbrother to watch my back at school now! I don't have to worry about anyone making fun of me anymore, or not having someone to talk to on a bad day!"

"So you're not angry with me?" my stepdad, whose name was Walter asked.

"Of course not! You gave me something I've never had that I've always wanted! I'm not an only child anymore!" I replied.

My stepdad and I hugged after I promised him I wasn't angry with him. If anything, I was relieved, because it meant I would be under constant protection. Sure, I knew I had Luke too, I couldn't possibly forget about him. I didn't really have any bullies to worry about, but in this day and age, you never know. After a few minutes, there was a knock at the door. My stepdad answered it, where speak of the devil, Eric walked in the door.

I ran at top speed to Eric, then leaped into his arms to hug him, man he smelled good. Sadly though, knowing he was my stepbrother, meant dating him was off the table now, and with Luke being straight, and Adam..... being Adam, I still hadn't found anyone to call my own yet. But for now, I just wanted to soak up the moment that I had a stepbrother now, and I was happy that if it had to be anyone, I'm glad it was Eric. Speaking of Eric, he stayed at the house for about an hour before he had to go back home with his mom.

Before I went to bed that night, I found out that a school dance was coming up. I knew I wouldn't find a date in time before the dance, so I would end up going alone, which bummed me out to where I almost didn't go. However, after talking to Eric, he had a plan that would make me glad I decided to go, because someone unexpected would show up, and make the school dance the best night of my life.
