Trigger Warnings - blood, violence, distress

~~~
Her heart sank as she saw what had caused her to fall. Ponk's missing arm.
A painful groan brought her attention back to what really mattered. Ponk. An idea popped into her head. It was dangerous, but right now, she had no other choice. She grabbed Ponk's remaining hand, and spoke to her hurting friend.
"I'm sorry Ponk. I have to leave, but I'll be right back, okay?"
Ponk didn't have the energy to respond. Rune was silently grateful for this because she didn't know if she could leave him if he asked her to stay. She hopped back onto her feet, and changed her destination.
She watched the ground carefully as she ran back home. She moved quickly and expertly into the compound, her heart beating rhythmically as she tried to calm herself. You won't be any good to him panicked.
A bark from Fran interrupted Rune's thoughts.
"Hi, girl. I can't play now, okay?"
Fran whined, but trotted away to find a toy to entertain herself. Rune walked into her room, resigning herself to what she had to do. She tossed everything out of her closet, and slid her knife out of it's holder on her thigh. She traced a piece of wood at the very back of the closet, opening a secret opening. It was tiny, only big enough for a small wooden box, maybe five square inches in total. In this box were three things: the prison's keycard, Rune's dream diary, and a blue felt bag. She grabbed the felt bag and ran to leave the compound.
Fran followed her, and being that Rune didn't have the time to get her to stay, let the dog follow her to Ponk. Again she knelt beside her friend, hoping she came back in time. Ponk let out another whimper of pain, and Rune knew she had made it. She held the blue felt bag in front of her, pulled the golden string tying it together, and poured the contents into her hand.
A single golden fruit fell from the bag. It had a magical shien and an intimidating aura. This was powerful, fruit of the gods, and Rune knew it. This single fruit was worth an empire, but Rune had already made up her mind. Ponk had already started reaching for the fruit, even his delirious body knowing what this fruit could do. His single hand grabbed the fruit and he brought it to his mouth.
A single bite took half of the fruit. Its golden skin gave way to a gorgeous blue fruit. Purple juice dripped down Ponk's face and hand, bursting with power as it hit the ground. Ponk swallowed the fruit, and gobbled down the rest of the fruit in his second bite. The fruit was gone in less than thirty seconds.
A purple glow took over Ponk's eyes and his body began to repair itself. Within seconds his whole body was healed.
"What was that?"
"We call them Ambrosia Apples. They can heal anything as long as it's still alive."
"How is that poss-"
"Sorry Ponk, but I need my questions answered first. Who did this to you?"
Ponk blinked and a tear fell down his face.
"Sam."
"Sam?"
"He went crazy when he couldn't find his last keycard. He blamed me for taking it, and I did, but I couldn't find it. He said I was trying to help Dream and took my arm as a, as a..."
