devil town.

❝we're all dead in devil town that's fine, 'cause nothing's gonna scare us now❞

The sun beamed down on the group of the kids as they scrambled to collect their things, the sun was bright over the campsite making the air and the breeze was almost non-existent, the grass was warm to the touch and the sun just seemed to get brighter.

October grabbed his backpack quickly shoveling things inside, they hadn't slept in days and the bags under their eyes proved it. He felt a soft hand placed on his shoulder and they immediately knew the familiar touch, "when's the last time you slept?" Amaya pondered worried, helping October put things away in their bags.

"It's been a few days, three? No four? I don't know, I lost count." October murmured the last bit not wanting people concerned about him.

"Tobi, you need to sleep. If you don't your brain will stop functioning and then you'll lose all your senses and then- here." Amaya stopped her lecture to hand October a necklace with a dog tag around it, October smiled genuinely and placed it over Amaya's head, it fell around her neck.

"Amaya stop worrying about me, I'll be fine," October reassured but Amaya wasn't persuaded before she could say anything more. October changed the subject. "How'd you convince Foxy to come along with us?" October called out to the rest of the group knowing how opposed Foxen was to the idea.

"It's Foxen." Foxen corrected them.

"It didn't take much, he's a real softie at heart." Hattie ridiculed patting Foxen's chest from behind him. Foxen shoved them off irritated.

"Is everyone ready?" Amaya asked, grabbing her backpack and slinging it around her shoulders. Everyone nodded except for Cora who seemed to be panicking.

"I can't find it, I can't find it," Cora repeated over and over again looking around the campsite frantically. Mila placed a warm hand on her shoulder and spoke in a calm tone hoping to calm the blonde down.

"Coco calm down, can't find what?" Mila asked.

"My necklace, the one with the heart pendant, must've fallen off when I was sleeping," Cora said her heart was pounding and her breathing was heavy.
