"Who's minivan did he steal?" I joked as Josh pulled up and blew dust everywhere. "I didn't know they sold Fords in Australia." I had sunglasses on to protect my eyes from all of the dust as I sat on a nearby demoed car out of the way.
"Come here!" Gaege yelled for me. I looked around and pointed at myself as if I didn't know who he was talking to. "Yes you. Come here." He waved me over. I slid off of the car and walked over to him. My doc Martens were covered in dirt. "Do you want to go for a quick ride?"
"In the car or...?" He giggled at my comment and then responded.
"The car."
"Oh, uh yeah." He opened the passenger side door.
"M'lady" I got in.
"Are you ready to go fast?" He said as he climbed into the drivers seat. We did one lap around the dirt track as I screamed and laughed with excitement for at least half of it. He brought the car to a quick halt and gravity kept pulling us forward. I slammed against the seat and winced at the slight pain from the old seats. We both laughed.
"Someone should take your drivers license," I joked.
"I don't have one in Australia."
"Makes sense." I stumbled out of the car. My knees were a bit shaky from the adrenaline rush. I stepped off by Dose and was handed a black bag from the owner of the track. I shook it to figure out what it was. "Is this spray paint?" I asked as I heard the ball inside the cans giggle around and the aluminum clanking together.
"Yep, gotta make 'em pretty." I tossed the bag on the ground in front of the cars and the boys got to work. It took them 30ish minutes before calling it good which followed with them breaking things off of each others cars.
"That helmet looks great on you," I said to Gaege.
"Oh does it? Thanks." We shared a kiss and then the owner of the property started to go over some basic rules and maneuvers to keep everyone safe which would be partially ignored. The track was relatively skinny so overtaking one another in a race would have been hard. One rule was no pit maneuvers. Luckily he also taught them how to not roll if a pit was performed which came in handy for all of them. The dust was insane and I could feel it enter my body with every inhale.
"Here," Dose bumped me to get my attention," Take this." He pulled out another camera from a bag and pointed. "Go over there." He showed me how to work it and sent me on my way. I ran as fast as I could to make it on top of a hill a few hundred feet away. Luckily, I didn't have to stay up there for long by myself when Dose waved me back over after they passed but he kept the camera with me incase he wanted to send me running to a different spot.
"Ride with me," Gaege said when Mully put his car out of commision.
"yeah, get some good shots in," Dose encouraged.
"No way! I don't look good in a helmet." I responded.
"Come on babe," Gaege pleaded.
"No thanks."
"Ugh fine. Dose?" Gaege asked. He shrugged and got in. The first thing he did with someone else in the car was break something. I had to take over filming when Dose was dropped off half way down the track and had to walk back after the passenger side of his beat up car was smashed in by Mully and Josh.
"Can I do a burn out?" Mully asked the owner who was out supervising if anything went wrong.
"Is that standard?" The man answered.
"Uh, no." Mully laughed.
"Alright. Back it up over there and I'll meet you." Mully cheered as he skipped over to the driver side of the car and got in. This, of course, was followed by a little showing off by the owner as he got in his car that was painted to resemble that of a bomber plane and slung dirt all over the place. He directed Mully in the sub to Dub fake taxi and then pulled up to where they were bumper to bumper. Mully put the car into drive and pressed the accelerator and break at the same time while the other car held him from going forward even while the break was applied.
"Yeah," Mully was yelling as he bobbed his head up and down proud of the amount of smoke the tired on the poor car was producing. The smell of the burning rubber was appalling and triggered my gag reflex. The engine eventually died and he couldn't continue any longer. The back tires were slightly ablaze. Josh got in and acted visibly upset that it was no longer starting. With the car still smoking, the horn went off. In his impromptu sadness, Josh laid his head against the wheel causing the horn to sound. Gaege lifted his head to get it to stop and as soon as he let go, Josh smacked his helmeted head back against the horn. It stopped for a brief moment as Josh attempted to start the car once again. His attempt was unsuccessful and he slammed his head back down. When Josh officially stopped and got out, it was a laughing moment for all of us.
I thankfully didn't participate in returning Mully's car in fear of 2nd hand embarrassment. I felt like dying when the tow truck came to pick it up alone so they dropped me off back at the mansion and I enjoyed watching the sunset in the hottub with a couple of new friends that Kristy ended up inviting over while the boys were still out for a 'girls night' even through it came to an end only a few hours later.
