7 years Later

    I sit at my boring desk, at my boring job and type boring things on my computer. Being an assistant sucks. I lean over to my coworker and best friend Samuel. "Hey, Where's Bethany Anderson today?" I whispered. "Apparently she got a stomach bug, so does the CEO" he whispered back. I couldn't help but laugh "Probably not the only thing he's gotten from her" I say. "You're evil..." He chuckled. I roll my eyes and let out a giggle as I lean back in my chair. "You think the CEO is sleeping with Bethany?" He asked me. "Haven't you seen the stares?" I asked him. "They always stare at each other while they think nobody's looking, besides I just get this feeling" I tell him. "Why did I ask? You predict the lottery all the time but never play, what insane person does that?" He pointed out. "The same insane person who lets completely strangers move in with them" I shot back at him. "Fair... fair" he chuckled. "What's for lunch?" I asked, looking over at him again. "I was thinking Chinese?" He suggested. "If you get Chinese you're going to get food poisonings" I tell him. "A feeling?" He asked me. "Because you only order from one place, they had three health violations just this month" I reminded him. "Then what do you suggest miss seer?" He teased me. "I suggest you lay off the grease or you'll have a heart attack in four years. I'll find you dead on the floor, unfinished taco in your hand" I blurted out, yet again no filter on my mouth. "Damn, at least let me finish my taco" he chuckled, thinking it was a joke but I had seen his death before. It was two things that was going to kill him. Heart attack or some kind of explosion. I always see his face burned in my nightmares. Buzz buzz! I pull out my phone to see a text on my phone.
EMERGENCY ALERT
BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO LOS ANGELES. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!
My heart felt like it had stopped. "No way! It's like that time in Hawaii. Give them a couple minutes they'll send another text to take it back" My coworker laughed. Ring! Ring! I knit my brows together when I see my boss calling me. I answer the phone "Hello? Athena? Can you hear me?" My boss asked. "Yeah, what's going on?" I asked him. "The Missle...Missle threat is real!" He was cutting in and out. "I'm across the world...there's a spot at...shelter. Outpost three, get there right away!" He tells me. "I won't...." His phone suddenly goes out and I felt my heart feel heavy. I shot from my chair "What's going on?" My co worker asked. "Come on! Let's go!" I grabbed his hand. I pulled him with me as we reached the doors and go outside. "This is....insane" he paused, watching everyone run like mad people, killing other and running people over. There's so much screaming I don't know where to go. "Athena?" A man approached me. "Yeah?" I knit my brows together. "The CEO sent me, we're taking you to the shelter" he informed me. "let's go" I try to grab my coworker. "Just you..." The man spoke. "No, you take the both of us!" I demanded to him. I turned to my coworker "Just go...I'll figure something out" my coworker tells me. "I'll see you in hell" he winked, pulling me into a hug. I felt like crying, he's been my best friend since he found me just six years ago. I was on the ground passed out by his house, I didn't know how I'd gotten there. Only my first name, Athena. I had never gotten my memory back. "You know it" I tell him as my chest felt heavy. "Guess it won't be the tacos" he joked. It caused my heart to hurt for him. "We don't have much time Miss, we need to go now before the Missiles strike" the man tells me. I pull away from my coworker Samuel and the men grabbed my upper arm, pulling me with him before putting me into a black unmarked van. He gets into the driver's seat and takes off. "I don't understand, how did my boss plan all this?" I asked. He doesn't answer, driving like a mad man. He drives away from the city until we reached a dirt road. He swerves, turning the van and the gate opened as we drove faster. We get to a building that looks like something I dreamt before, stopping just in front of it when two men come out of the ring. Suddenly just like that men yank me hardly from the van, picking me up as the carrier me over to the two other men. "Just the one?" The man asked. "Copy." The man then speak into his sleeve "We have one coming in now, repeat we have one female coming in now" he stated. Just then I feel a pinch in my neck as the man roughly grabbed a hold of me. "Wait...no" I whispered out as my body went limp. My vision and everything around me blurred, moving slower. Their voices seemed faded as my ears began to ring loudly in my ears. "It's something to keep you calm" I hear a man's voice tell me. "Calm?" I repeated. I didn't know what they had given me but soon as I hear a loud noise everything around me had faded and my vision went out. Maybe it was for the best that I didn't have to see or hear the world had come to an end. Maybe I would wake back up and this would be some really vivid dream like before. Everyone will be safe, alive and if go to work and love my boring life as the strange girl with no memory of her past. Because this isn't real, This really isn't the end. Is it?
