Corrupted Civilization

Chapter 22

The warden of time, inside of her dream, sat there with her puffy red eyes from all the tears she cried, Mumei on the other hand, just sat next to her with a sad smile. The pretty clear sky got dark and shiny stars made its appearance in the space. Mumei was amazed by the view of the stars shining brightly into the sky, her eyes focused on the sky only. Kronii's eyes made their way to look at the same scenario, maybe to distract herself from the illusion she created.

"The stars are pretty Kronii", said Mumei softly, her eyes softened at the view. Kronii's gaze went from the sky straight to the girl, she never imagined she would miss her that much. Without control of her body, Kronii's hand made its way to Mumei's cheek, the touch of the girl's soft cheek made Kronii blush.

"You are much more beautiful", without showing a hint to Mumei, Kronii's lips met hers. The warden felt it, sweetness resulted as taste, tenderness with every touch of the lips, the small breaths she let out, both of them were blushing. When Mumei wanted to break the kiss and say something, Kronii simply kissed her over and over again. Mumei could feel the warden's urge of the girl in front of her, it was really strong. After Mumei was finally able to break the kiss without further kisses, Mumei was laying with Kronii on top of her. Underneath the tree, they tried to catch their breath.

"You...are going...to regret...this", said Mumei while she was still trying to breathe normally. Kronii's breath became slowly normal again, but her gaze didn't, the urge was still there.

"I know I will, but for now, let me enjoy this", answered Kronii back, Mumei shook her head slowly, a sad smile on her face and disappointment in her eyes, facing the warden on top of her.

"Why did you kiss me though ?", asked Mumei, this made Kronii make her distance from the girl, she was right, why did she kiss her ? It took her a long moment to think, yet she didn't have an answer. Mumei looked at the warden of time, her confused look mixed with shock, she could see how Kronii had no idea why she did it in the first place.

"Kronii, I know you perfect and all, but, you do know what it means to people like me right ? I guess it's up to you to even find out what you are doing", explained the brown-haired girl to the confused woman, her golden-brown eyes met the warden's blue ones. Kronii only gave a small nod to Mumei's explanation and kept thinking what the reason was.

At the council, Kanata was finally done with healing Kronii, she was sweating a lot from all the energy she had to use to save the warden. Aqua too, she was way too exhausted, her energy went all on Kronii too. They both looked at each other, giving thumbs up from their success. After many hours of healing, they were able to get the warden as healthy as before. They could still remember the furious rat hitting the doors of the nursery room hard, asking for the health of the woman in front of them. Fortunately chaos had exited the room with the help from Sana, their search went for IRyS this time.

"Thank god she's fine now", said Aqua with a sigh of relief, Kanata agreed with her.

"Me too, all she needs now is rest", said Kanata softly, a smile of exhaustion was shown on her face. They could sleep by now, but they had to take care of the other patient, Suisei. As what Aqua explained before, Suisei wasn't heavily injured, only scratches were on her body, nothing more. They had to use their powers only for a little bit, so that even Suisei was fine and healthy on her own. The scratches slowly faded, so did her unconsciousness fade too.

Suisei's eyelids opened a little, observing the clear room she was at. Looking at Aqua and Kanata, she was scared and escaped from the bed she had been laying the whole time. Unable to control her powers yet, she activated without purpose one of her powers, which was lighting herself up like a shining star. Her body was so bright, Kanata and Aqua had to cover their eyes.
