AU: no war

Marlene opened the door to the flat she and Sirius shared. She was returning home later after a longer stay at Lily's baby shower.
"I'm back!" she called.
Sirius walked out to greet her, a cigarette in his mouth James and Remus following because they decided to throw James a little party while the girls gave Lily a baby shower.
"How was the party?" Sirius asked.
"It was great," she replied happily.
"Is it safe for me to go home now?" James asked.
"Yeah, I was the last to leave. Don't worry we cleaned up, which is why I'm late," Marlene answered.
"Ok, thanks. I better get home before I'm late," James said, thanking Sirius and saying goodbye before Apperating to his house.
"All right, well, I'm on my way, then, too," Remus spoke up. "Thanks, Sirius." He hugged Marlene. "Bye, Marlene."
And he was gone with a little 'pop'.
After they were gone, Sirius turned to Marlene, took his cigarette out of his mouth and letting out a puff of smoke, and leaned in to give her a kiss. But, before he could, she put one hand on his chest and pushed him away, her other hand covering her mouth and nose.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," she said, pushing him back while coughing. "You can't kiss me until that thing is out, this place is smoke-free from now on and there is not one trace of smoke in your breath."
"Marlene, we always kiss when I'm smoking, what's the difference now?" Sirius asked, very confused.
"The doctor said I can't be near smokers," she replied, shrugging and not exactly meeting his eyes.
"Doctor? Like the Muggle healer?"
"Maybe."
"When did you go to a doctor?"
"Last week."
"Last week?! What are you going to a doctor and not telling me?"
"Uhhh," Marlene didn't know how to tell him. "I..." She looked at the ground. This was harder than she expected. "I-I..."
Out with it, Marlene! She thought.
Finally, she took a deep breath and looked up at Sirius, who looked very concerned for his girlfriend, and said, "I'm pregnant."
"You're- You're- What?" Sirius practically yelled.
"Pregnant," she repeated. "We're having a baby."
She looked at him. He didn't seem to know what to do. And he almost looked mad.
"Look, I'm sorry I said it. If you want to leave me, that's fine. I-I can go live with my f-family," she told him, stuttering because she was about to cry.
"No! Oh, Merlin's beard, Marlene, I would never leave you! Especially for this," Sirius said quickly.
"You're not mad?" Marlene asked as she wiped away a tear.
"No, how could I be mad? This is brilliant. Beyond brilliant! Marlene, I love you," Sirius out his forehead on hers.
"I love you, too, Sirius."
Although they had declared their love for each other before, this time it felt special. And he couldn't wait for their date they had planned for tomorrow night because that is where he would finally propose to his true love.

A/N: Soo sorry for not updating. I try to update within a reasonable amount of time. The reason I was able to update every day for the first few days was because they were prewritten.
