I stumbled back from the book, as she has experienced a lot. I no longer feel to need to call her Caretaker when I'm not around her. She is a nice person, she just won't show it to us.
I wonder why she gives us harsh punishments if she loves us to death.
Tough love?
I giggled at the thought. I walked out the room and went to my right to go to our room. Nobody was in it, as the game of tag was still going. I walked in, and grabbed my coloring book off my bed.
I started to flip the book pages all the way to the front, and looked at my old drawings. Half of the pages were burnt from the house fire, but full of memories. I saw my old drawings of Benjamin and me, tears flooding my eyes.
I couldn't bare to look up at the children whom has entered the room. They ran over to me, and tried to figure out what's wrong.
No matter how hard I tried to stop crying, my eyes didn't budge.
"Hey, hey- it's okay. Calm down."
"Shhh... it's okay."
"Hey where's Phoenix?"
"PHONIEX?!..."
"She's still inside!"
"Help- HELP- THE FIRE ITS-"
They didn't get to me fast enough. So, now I have scars- from the fire.
"Oh..", the other children said.
We heard the front door unlock, as all 3 locks were heard. They closed the door and pretended to do something. I decided to draw another picture of me a Benjiman.
While I was drawing, "Mom" came into the room and checked on us. While she was looking around, we heard a loud bang from downstairs. She turned around and went downstairs, her black short hair being the last thing we saw.
I decided to peek around the corner to see what was going on. I saw blood on the floor as an armed policeman was telling her to get on the ground.
He shot her on the leg, but she didn't even flinch as blood was trailing down her leg.
He shot her again and again until his gun ran out of ammo. "Ouch.", she said. She then grinned with the policeman in shock.
She then hinged her neck back and began to open her mouth. Blood pooling out, her mouth became abnormally large as her jaw clicked and snapped, dislocating it.
She opened her mouth wide enough to where she could swallow him whole. Sitting there with my mouth open in horror, she ran at him and bit his head open, blood spewing everywhere. She then closed her mouth, clicking and cracking once again.
I poked my head back into our room as other watched my face in horror. They asked what happened and if she is dead.
I whispered that I'll explain later.
"Mom" came back up the stairs and said, " Sorry for the inconvenience, dinner will be ready in a few.", and went back down the stairs. I could feel tears in my eyes as I processed what had just happened.
It was so strange- so horrifying..
so bloody...
Tears in my eyes got bigger as I sniffed. Others watched as I silently sobbed- wondering why I was crying.
I was crying because I had realized something.
She killed a cop.
We were never getting out of here- she killed a grown man.
And we were just kids.
I had also realized another thing.
She isn't normal. She was a monster.
