What if Isabela was Antonio's Mother

The Next Day (said in spoungebob guy voice)

Isabela's pov

I wake up with Antonio's head laying on my chest and his arm wrapped loosely around my stomach. Some of the flowers had fallen off his head as he slept and were now lightly sprinkled on my dress.

I woke him up by lightly stroking his cheek and whispering to him that it was time to wake up. He gradually faded into conciseness wrinkling his nose and blinking a few times before slowly pushing himself up off of my chest and up to my face. He pushed his face into my nose forcing me no nuzzle his forehead. I wrinkled my nose and pushed back against his forehead with my nose.

I pulled away from his forehead and he scrambled off of me and jumped off his bed. He grabbed my hand yanking me off the bed and up to my feet. I helped him get dressed and went to my room to get ready for the day.

When I was done I wen't downstairs and outside for breakfast. I tried to sit next to Antonio but Dolores got there first.

Abuela started her daily speech (with minor interruptions from my sister) and started to walk over to me. then I heard her say the name gusman and I snap to attention.

( ya'll idk how to spell it, pls help if you know. I think thats as close as I'm gonna get.)

all I hear is the tail end of her sentence after tuning back into the conversation "About Mariano's proposal to Isabela, Dolores do we have a date." she says pulling my chin up to look at her.

Dolores cranes her head up a bit probably listening to their conversation "tonight, he wants five baby's" my eyes widen and flowers sprout out of my head.

'I'M NOT DOING THAT FIVE MORE TIMES! IS HE CRAZY?!'

she pulls a daisy out of my hair and turns my body by lightly pulling on my shoulders "Such a fine young man with our perfect Isabela" she sweeps some hair off right shoulder I force a smile as she walks away.

I watch her walk away and see Camilo shift into Mariano. I throw flowers in his face and poof some in his mouth for good measure. He spits them out and I block him with my hand and turn my head away.

"La Famila Madrigal"

"LA FAMILA MADRIGAL"

Dolores, Luisa, and Mirabel left but everyone else stayed eating. Luisa left to start her chores and Mirabel followed her, Dolores excused herself and left upset. I guess she heard something bad from far away... maybe that guy is cheating on his wife again.

I moved into the now empty seat next to Antonio and notice he looks upset. I gently move his chin to myself him look up at me "what's wrong Tonio?"

He scrunches his mouth up to one side and looks down at his swinging legs. "Nothing" he says barley above a whisper. "Are you sure" I give him a few seconds before he looks back at me "are you gonna leave"

"No! Why would you think that" I say putting a hand delicately on my chest. "Because your gonna go and have your five baby's with Mariano and leave me behind!" He yelled clearly upset.

I get off my chair and fall to my knees in front of him. I move his face to look at me again "no I would never leave you"

"Never ever?"

"Never ever"

He smiled small and threw his arms around my neck. I sat back up in my chair again and he moved his plate so he could eat while sitting on my lap.

"How would you like to spend the day with me... would that make you feel better" his eyes brightened and he looked up at me "really?!" I smiled at his eagerness and said "only if Abuelas ok with it" he redirected his gaze to abuela with the same big eyes "pleaseeeeeeee" he said folding his hands and blinking a few times.

Abuela chuckled and nodded her head "as long as there's no trouble I don't see why not. Just as long as your not distracting Isabela from her work." She said the last part with a smile but a stern look on her face.

"Oh I won't be a distraction" he said and then whispered "I'll be really quiet she won't even know I'm there." He jumped off my lap and started doing over exaggerated ninja moves. I laughed and brushed off my lap as I stood up and grabbed his hand.

Everyone at the table either laughed or smiled at us as we walked away down the street. I greeted people as I walked down the street growing flowers in my wake.

Antonio grabbed my hand and laid his cheek on it as we walked down the road. "How do you think we will use my gift will help the Encanto?" He said looking up at me.

"I don't know but I'm sure we'll figure out a way" I smiled down at him and then noticed a person chasing rats out of their kitchen.

"Hey why don't you help them?" I kneel down and pinch his cheek. "They look like they might have a problem you can help with" he nods and throws his arms around my neck for a quick goodbye hug.

Eventually I finished my chores and we made our way back home. I made Antonio a flower crown and a rat came up to him and squeaked. He gasped and said "I'll check it out later I'm in the middle of something right now." Just then abuela called me and told me to start getting ready for dinner and that Mariano would be here soon.

I nodded and made my way up to my room when I was alone I made a few disgusted noises at the thought of being engaged to Mariano. "Why do I have to be perfect, why can't she just let me be me."

I finished getting ready and went downstairs by way of my vines. I ran into my sister on the way down and she looked at my face and almost yelled "Hey do you remember Tio Bruno?"

I gave her a questioning look "yea I remember him... but we're not really supposed to talk about him." She sighed and rolled her eyes "Ok fine I won't mention him again but will you just tell me what you remember about him." She said an almost desperate tone of voice could be detected aside of her normal awkward one.

"Umm... ok. Well..."

"He told me that the life of my dreams would be promised and some day be mine."

I said thinking of Antonio and his father. The things I wanted more than anything.

More than perfection

More than Abuela's approval.

More than life it's self.

"He told me that my power would grow like the grapes that thrive on the vine"

I hear Abuela's voice from another room "Oye Mariano's on his way"

I head Dolores singing upstairs and grow some flowers on a pillar that I thought looked bare. I give her one last glare and add "hey sis I want not a sound out of you"

Dolores keeps talking about 'hearing him now'? I'm kind of concerned I'll talk to her about it later.

I get to the room Abuela is in we hear Camilo shout from the door

"ISABELA YOUR BOYFRIENDS HERE"

Me and abuela yell back "TIME FOR DINNER"

And I help my Tia pepa set the plates around the table still thinking about my Tio's prophecy.

What life is he talking about.

Is he talking about the life abuela wants for me or the life I want for myself.

I don't really want much I just want Antonio and maybe his father.

I just want to be with them.

A/N: y'all I'm sorry for the cliffhanger but I thought this would be a good ending. The next chapter will be out either later tonight or early tomorrow.
