begin again- taylor swift

I've been spending the last eight months

thinking all love ever does is break and burn and end,

but on Wednesday, in a cafe, I watched it begin again.

I stand with my sister, my head on her shoulder as we wait for our bags to come through at baggage claim. My eyes feel heavier and heavier until,

"Our bags!" Maddy yells basically into my ear. "Well, that's sure one way to wake me up Mads'" I retort rubbing my ear. "Sorry Ev I'm just ready to go sleep in an actual bed," She says while grabbing her bag.

I walk up to the conveyor and grab mine as well at the same time mom and dad do the same. "I'm so thirsty can we grab some coffee or something on the way out, I saw a map that said there was a cafe in here," I suggest as we start heading to find our way out. "Not right now Ev, let's focus on getting to the hotel for now, maybe after you can venture off and find somewhere near the hotel," Mom answers to me continuing to follow the signs leading us to the exit.

Once out the doors I immediately let the fresh air soak in, the weather in Australia is a lot colder than I thought it would be for being summer, well, summer in the states at least. We wait outside the airport for a few minutes while waiting for the taxi Dad had called.

One the taxi soon arrives and we all pile in our luggage and we're off to the hotel, a.k.a our home until our belongings arrive from overseas. We had most of our belongings shipped here on some cargo transport company dad found, but that was a week ago and they won't be arriving for another two weeks. So, for now, all we have is what we brought in our suitcases.

The drive to the hotel is about 20 minutes, as expected. I step out of the car and let the cool Aussie air hit my face once again. The hotel is enormous and luxurious. A large blue sign on the building reads 'Hilton'.

I'm in awe of the luxury of this building. I'd never stayed in a hotel like this before. The main building with the lobby is completely glass from the floor to the roof. It's not very tall, only 2 maybe 3 stories. Emerging from the middle of the main building was a tall, thin building that's probably close to 40-50 stories tall.

I spend so much time staring at the building that I didn't realize my parents are unpacking our bags from the car.

"Ev grab your shit and stop drooling over bricks and glass" Maddy yells. I quickly walk to the trunk of the taxi and grab my luggage, being the last to grab my bags I thank the driver and close the trunk, catching up with my family who's walking into the hotel already.

While Dad checks into the hotel, me and Maddy argue about who's gonna get the bigger room when we move into the house.  "Okay girls, stop your bickering." Dad loudly interrupts, clapping his hands together. "Until our belongings arrive your mother and I will be staying in a large suite and you two will be staying in a standard room down the hall from us." He explains. "You two each have your own keycard, Please DO NOT LOSE IT." Mom buds in waving her finger at us, she knows how forgetful and oblivious we are. Dad hands us our keycards and we head to our rooms, all ready to settle in.

The plane ride exhausted me so much that my hands are fumbling to hold the keycard up to the scanner on our door correctly. "Hurry your ass up, I need to piss." Maddy whines. Finally, the door beeped and clicked, announcing it was unlocked.

Before I could grab the handle Maddy had already thrown the door open and dropped all her things in the doorway scrambling to find the bathroom, which was conveniently placed right by the door. I snort a laugh at her impatience. "How long you been holding that in for?" I call to her, chuckling a bit while walking into the room. "Too fucken long" She yells in response.
