Chapter 13

The bell rang. Since I have no club practice, we'll go straight home. Me and BJ walked out of the building and went to the east gate. I looked to my left. Charmaine is standing inside the mini garden.

I guess she will confess there. Sheesh that guy, always keeps Charmaine wait.

"Let's go eat somewhere.", BJ offered out of nowhere.

"Eat? Oh. I'm good."

"Come on. It's my treat.", he raised his eyebrows twice.

"Okay then. It's your treat okay? No backing outs.", I smiled.

We went to the restaurant where I always buy my dinner. I ordered just 1 pasta plate but BJ ordered 3 plates for me. He really knows me well.

"Looks like your allowance is dead.", I said.

"Naahh.. It's nothing. It's a long time since I have seen your smile.", he said.

I rubbed his head. "I'm glad you noticed.", I smiled. Our orders filled our table. I just ate 2 pastas. Gotta save 1 pasta for dinner. This day is great.

"Bye!", I waved at BJ as he walks away. I started walking to the apartment. As I reached my apartment room, I took my key and someone is coming up the stairs, it's Gab.

"Looks like you're having a great day, pres.", he said.

"Huh?"

"Nothing. Wanna eat dinner with me?", he asked.

I scoffed. "As if I want to."

"Okay then.", he shrugged.

"So, what happened between you and Charmaine?", I asked.

"Nothing... Why?", he asked.

"Just asking.", I unlocked my door and went inside. Ahh.. I'm stuffed. Can I still eat my dinner?

That's weird. Did Charmaine confess to that guy? He still looks confident. Did he accept Charmaine? Hmm.. oh well.

Next day, it's raining. I walked out of my apartment room and locked the door. Coincidentally, Gab also went out of his apartment room.

"Good morning.", he greeted.

"Mm..", I rubbed my eyes while passing by him but unexpectedly, I slipped on stepping a slippery wet spot. But someone grabbed hold of my arm. I sighed in relief.

Geez I thought I'm going to dirty my uniform. I stood up properly and fixed my uniform. I nodded to Gab and walked to school with an umbrella.

While walking to school, I can feel footsteps from behind. I looked behind me, it's Gab about 1 meter away from me. I ignored him and walked like I don't know.

As I reached our school, BJ is waiting for me at the main gate. I walked faster to go towards him.

"Let's go.", I said.

"What? Sorry but I'm waiting for someone else.", he said. Ow?

I nodded. "Okay then. Bye.", I smiled and rolled my eyes.

"Just kidding. Let's go.", he grinned.

"LENNY!!!", I looked back, Charmaine hastily jumped infront of me.

"Oh. Uh. Good morning Charmaine.", I greeted.

"Let me tell you what happened yesterday.", she smiled. A smile? Does this mean he accepted her?

BJ cleared his throat. "Oh. Charmaine, this is BJ, BJ, this is Charmaine.", I introduced.

"Oh! You're that guy from yesterday at the back of Lenny! I thought you were a stalker.", she said frankly. I controlled my laughter.

"Actually, I'm her bestfriend.", he pointed at me.

"Oohhh...", her eyes transferred onto me. "So, here's what happened."

BJ stealthily lend his ear out like he doesn't know what's happening. Charmaine looked at him with her serious look.

"What?", he shrugged.

Charmaine shook her head. She faced me again. "Here. I'm going to tell you our conversation yesterday."

"Charmaine: You know, I really like you since from the start... And I—

Gab: I'm not interested.

Gab turned around and going to walk away.

Charmaine: Is that because you like someone? Tell me, I'll adjust myself to your liking.

He faced me.

Gab: I only like girls who is strong willed, persistent, kind. A member of archery club. A pasta lover. A girl who hides her smile. A girl whom I first saw inside her club room.

Gab smirked.", Charmaine explained what happened thoroughly.

"Ohhh... So you're rejected, huh. Sorry but I don't know the girl he's talking about so I can't help you.", I said. The feeling of being rejected, the feeling I'll never forget.

They both looked at me with a Geez look. What? Did I say something wrong?

"Don't worry I already know the girl he's talking about.", Charmaine smiled.

"What? Who is it? I'll tell her to stop flirting with Gab for you.", I said.

They both laughed. Huh?

"No it's fine.", Charmaine smiled while patting my head. "Thank you for your hardwork, Lenny."

"Are you really fine?", I asked.

"Yes. Don't worry. I already have someone I like.", she grinned. Girls like Charmaine have strong hearts. I wish my heart could also be like that...

"Who's Gab?", BJ asked.

"Oh right. You still don't know that guy.", I said.

"That's him.", Charmaine pointed at the tree on our left. We all looked.

"Is it just me or is he looking at Lenny?", BJ said.

"Really? I thought so too.", Charmaine added.

"Let's go.", I pushed them towards the entrance of the building.

That guy...always looks at me. It's creepy.
