Chapter 29: I Love You

Days past. The Blood moon members were all healing from the battle. Life was getting back to normal. I practiced phasing, got faster, and stronger with each turn. I was introduced to the rest of the pack members I had not met. Each bowed and took me in with open arms. I was beginning to really feel welcomed into the pack. I went from an outcast to a leader.

I was making my way around meeting everyone with Alcide. A young boy approached us.

"Thank you for everything Alpha Alcide and Luna Bree. I'm relieved Rais is gone and I swear I will forever be loyal to this pack" the boy said. I looked to Alcide.

"This is Kai. He was working for Rais, but he came forward." Alcide explained.

I was hurt and concerned that such a young boy found themselves in line with Rais.

"Rais claimed to be able to help his mother if he helped him"

"What's wrong with your mom" I asked.

"She has cancer. The doctors have done all they could." he replied.

I felt a burn course through my body. My guy tightened. That little voice in the back of my head urged me to help.

"Would you mind taking me to your mom?" I asked.

Alcide looked at me weird, but Kai agreed.

"what are you going to do" Alcide whispered.

"I don't know. Just trust me"

I didn't really know what I was going to do, but the burning desire to see her told me it would be okay.

"Mom. This is Queen Luna" he said while walking into the house.

A frail woman lay on a inclined bed with IVs and monitors surrounding her.

I could tell she attempted to be respectful. I walked over to the edge of the bed and sat.

"No, its okay, just relax. There is no need for anything"

She gave me a warm smile.

My heart broke for her. She wasn't even that old but she looked like she has had a hard few years.

The angst to help radiated though me and burned my heart.

I put my hand on her forehead and closed my eyes.

"We will always be with you" a whispered voice echoed through my head. I could feel my palm warm and I let my desires flow through me.

I opened my eyes the same time the woman did. She looked a few years younger and the machine registered her pulse had improved.

"What-What did you do?" she asked

"I...don't know. I just felt that was what you needed and did it. Are you feeling okay?"

"Feeling okay" she pushed the blanket off of her and began to try to stand up.

"Mom what are you doing, lay back down" Kai said.

She reached for me and I helped her up. She stood up straight.

"I feel...fine. Better than I have in a long time." She twirled and jumped around.

"What did you do" Alcide whispered.

"I don't know" I whispered back

"Oh thank you Queen Luna" she bowed before me. "Thank you thank you, I will never be able to repay you"

"Hey" I said as I reached for her to stand up "theres no need, really..I just wanted to help is all"

She planted a kiss on my cheek and turned to her son. She wrapped his in his arms and spun his around with her.
