Long time no see everyone! Takeo's here! It's been a year and two months since Urokodaki-sensei take me as his student. Now, I'm standing in front of a huge #@_&- rock to slice it in half. I've been doing it for three month now. It's my final training before I can do Final Selection. Not that I know, if I can do that.

Nii-chan had done it long ago. Well he had been killing demons since I was eight. Now, he is doing the Final Selection to join Demon Slayer Corps. I'm actually shock when I found out that he want to join the Demon Slayer Corps.

I used to think it was a rule for members of Kamado family that they couldn't join it. I remember Otou-san told us that if a family member want to join, he or she has to change family name. When I confronted him about it and his response was...

"Ack! You're right! I actually forgot about it."

Then he started walking back and forth thinking out loud what should he do. After that, the conversation went like this...

"Should I change my name?" Nii-chan said sitting cross-legged.

I think I gave him a stink eyes there and said, "Are you insane? You're the Head of our family. How can you change your name?!"

I crossed my arms and narrowed my eyes at him. "Why do you have to join so bad, Nii-chan? If it's because you want to hunt demons then there's no need to join, right? After all, Otou-san slayed demons even when he didn't join the Corps. You can do that too."

Nii-chan looked away from me nervously. "If I join the Corps, the information I get will be much more than before. Although Kagaya-jisan will give me info as well, it won't be as much if I join."

At that time, I thought it was a good enough reason, so, I nodded and said, "Well, I think you can join the Corps but still be our Family Head. Our situation are different, after all. Besides Yori-nii didn't stop you, right? There's no way Yori-nii forget, that's mean he thinks it's okay, too."

But then I noticed how relieved Nii-chan was after I agreed. It made me think that he was still hiding something. Since I knew how badly he lied, I just asked if there was any other reason he wanted to join the Demon Slayer Corps.

After asking that for a lot of times, it took weeks, he cracked and said that he was also doing it for the money. I was stunned after hearing that. After all, our family is never lack of money. We are not rich like Oji-san who had really big house that he needed servants to clean it but we are not poor either that we have to struggle just to have food in our table.

"Do we have no more money?" I asked quietly.

Nii-chan shook his head. "Don't worry about it. Our savings is still a lot but since I can't do any coal burning anymore since I want to focus on demon slaying. I thought I might as well join the Corps and get paid for it."

After that, I thought I should join the Corps as well for the same reason but Nii-chan rejected the idea.

"Why?" I asked that to him with a pout.

"Takeo, I know that you want to help but if you join the Corps you'll get missions. I let you train because I want you to be able to defend yourself. Defending yourself and doing missions are very different. If you're doing missions, you have to focus more on the people you'll protect than yourself. I want you to focus on yourself."

At that time, I felt really happy when I heard that from him but I still retorted, "Then, what about Nii-chan? You're being unfair! You join and put your life on the line but you're not letting me do the same. How can you do that! If we go by family rules, I'm the one who can join the Corps not you!"
