Ayaka x Yoimiya ( The summer they met)

A/N this is basically just my headcanon as to how yoimiya and ayaka became a couple :) enjoy!

Its another slow summer at the kamisato estate, ayaka has always felt like a caged bird in her brothers shadow. She was definitely a hopeless romantic, always wishing for a love like the ones in her light novels.

This was something her good freind yoimiya would tease her about often. But she didnt mind, truly yoimiya was always a refreshing prescence. Even her brother and vlose freind thoma treated her as more of a princess than a sister. Yoimiya was the only person to not see "the shirasagihimigimi" or "the daughter of the kamisato clan"Just Ayaka. However, her being a noble lady, she had never even left narukami island. She knew she would never travel the world or go on an adventure. She knew she would always stay in ger quiet little hometown, being peaceful,tranqil and most inportanly unseen. Perhaps that was why she was so drawn to the blonde traveler upon their arrival. They were the opposite of her, strong, opinionated, and adventurous. Ayaka loved listenjng to the stories of there travels more than anything. They were a foreign presence in a town where the only people she had really known where the kamisato estate members and Yoimiya. For the first time, she felt herself develop a crush. First it was acknowledgement of the travelers skills, then it was admiration, then before she knew it she was blushing and smiling from ear to ear whenever the traveler came knocking. It was a whirlwind for ayaka, and even yoimiya noticed the change in her. Ayaka had finally found a "summer love" like the ones in her books. However....the traveler still had a job to do. And eventually they would leave. Ayaka always hated the thought, even though she knew it was inevitable. A part of her even considered running away with them, finally to travel the world with them. Yoimiya during this time felt quite strange. Ayaka was a noble lady, and her freind. Its not like she had ever expected anything more from ayaka. So...why did seeing ayaka so lovey dovey over the traveler hurt so much? As usual though, yoimiya covered it with a big smile, helping ayaka set up hangouts with the traveler and even telling ayaka about the upcoming festival. Yoimiya and ayaka had gone together every summer, however this year yoimiya offered her spot to the traveler. Ayaka was shocked but yoimiya was insistent that ayaka have this final night alone with the traveler. Even...if she still wished it was her. Yoimiya pushed her feelings even further down when ayaka told her she would confess her feelings to the traveler, hoping they would stay with her. Thats why when Yoimiya saw ayaka walking home from the festival with tear stain on her cheeks, words didnt need to be exchanged before she wrapped her freind in a hug. That night, they watched the sparklers flicker in front of them as they both sat by the beach. The two talked abput what happened, the traveler politely rejected ayaka, and said they would leave in the morning. Yoimiya did her best to comfort ayaka. However she could tell the noblewoman was experiencing a sadness comepletely different from what she was used too. On ine hand, yoimiya was glad the traveler had rejevted ayaka, she was glad ayaka wouldnt leave her behind. On the other hand...seeing ayakas tears was an insurmountable pain. She wanted to take away ayakas sadness, erase her tears. Give her...love. But deep down yoimiya felt like no matter what she did, even if ayaka DID like her back. Shed always just be second place to the traveler. Eventually the kamisato estate guards came across the two, and escorted ayaka back to her estate. Where she got chewed out by her brother and thoma for coming home so late. Still saddened ayaka collasped onto her bed. Only to lool out the window and see fireworks filling the sky. It took a second for ayaka to realize. The hues of blue,silver,and pink...they were for her. It was yoimiya's message to her. The next day ayaka ran straight to yoimoyas house. Only to realize that her freind wasnt there. Upon asking she learned yoimiya had gone on a sudden and long fireworks tour around inazuma until the end of summer. Every summer night ayaka waited on the beach. And every night she saw ypimiyas fireworka light up the sky. Sometimes they were close. Other times they were a far fliker of light in the distance. A message for ayaka. On the last day of summer yoimoya finally returned. Finally all the summer festivals in inazuma had ended and she could rest. However in the distance ahe saw a faint light coming from someome on the beach. Yoimiya walked down to the surf, confused as to why someone would be out alone so late. It was then yoimiya saw ayaka standing with a sparkler in hand. Ayaka immediately rushed towards yoimiya and hugged her causing thw both to burst into tears. Yoimiya admitted she couldnt stand seeing ayaka so heartbroken, so she left for the trip. However she woukd set off the fireworka every night so thay ayaka wouldnt feel alone. Apologizing yoimiya hugged ayaka close.Ayaka then confessed that she waited every night for yoimiya, however it was worth it. Ayaka told yoimiya that on the first njght shw saw those fireworks she realized... The person she had been waiting for was right there all along. The two then kiss and have a happily ever after :D
