Harry styles

The sound of Nyla's voice through the door was more than enough to get my lips curling into a subtle smile. Sure, I might be acting like I haven't seen her in days when it's only been one, but a day without her felt like an eternity of silence and emptiness, I just couldn't wait for her to fill my presence again.

"Green peppers and mushrooms." I answered her question of which vegetables were on her pizza.

"You know me well, Styles." She says and I didn't have to imagine the smile that was on her face because in a second, the door was opening and I got to see it with my own eyes.

I nearly drop the box of the pizza as I make eye contact with Nyla. She stands before me, the room completely dark behind her even though it's around five pm. When my eyes trail down, I notice an oversized hoodie engulfing her body which she wasn't wearing when she left last night after our failed job. I knew Zayn let her borrow it but I couldn't help but curse myself for not bringing my own she could wear.

I snap my eyes back to hers when I catch myself being stupid when I should be focused on Nyla. And I am, god am I so damn focused on her right now. The subtle smile to her full lips, her eyes on mine as she assesses my face the same way I do to her own. Her hair is down, a casual look on her that I was just dying to get closer to. I'm sure it's been a long minute of us simply staring at each other, but I couldn't help it.

I didn't feel empty anymore.

I decide to speak up after clearing my throats. "...Is it okay if I come in?" I take my chances with asking because it's honestly all I wanted to do, be closer to her.

Nyla's eyes burn into mine, a heat I could physically feel extruding through her. My heart beats a million miles per minute waiting for her answer. I only calm down a fraction when I see her nod her head slowly. A small smile breaks out on my face.

She turns to the side, gesturing a hand inside the darkened room. I took a step closer, walking inside until I passed her and turned around when I noticed her closing the door and clicking the lock in place. My eyes take a moment to adjust to the dark, but I notice her looking at me, she must've seen the confused look on my face as to why she locked the door.

"Its so Zayn doesn't come in." She informs me in a mumble, reading my mind.

"Oh, right. The guys are here too, Niall and Liam." I say casually.

"They are? Huh, I didn't even hear them." She says, making me nod.

It was silent for a prolonged moment, us simply staring at each other. But it's then I snapped back to the real reason I came here. To see how she's doing.

"Nyla...I'm so—"

"Can we eat?" She speaks up, stepping closer to me so she could take the pizza box out of my hands and place it onto the bed. She walks to the nightstand and turns on a lamp, a dim yellowish glow brightening up the room.

My lips, still parted, had no words to say as confusion blocked anything from forming. I turn around, scanning the room I've never been in before. Nyla's sitting on a queen mattress, the comforters all being white while the furniture includes hints of orange and that rustic wood that flows through the house.

"Oh, sure." I walk forward and take a seat on the edge of the mattress, my eyes trained on my knees. I notice the deafening silence surrounding us, making me turn my head to glance at Nyla.

She was already staring at me, her eyes holding a slight squint to them, making my heart race with anticipation. "Are you okay?" A hint of humor behind her voice.
