Qian waited for half an hour, using his hands to rest his head. His eyes became heavy, there were black spots below his eyes. He couldn't sleep for 2 days straight, working nonstop.
Just an hour ago, he finally finished a presentation in their company due tomorrow. When he was about to lay down on his bed, he received a call from a friend saying that Delia his best friend will be giving birth.
He rushed to the hospital, he drove but it was trafficking so he had to run halfway, leaving his car.
Qian sighed heavily, it seemed like luck wasn't on his side. He expected this since it never was. Qian waited and waited, praying for Delia and her -their child to be safe.
His heart was still beating fastly, he was worried for his best friend and child. Recollecting the memory when it all happened.
Qian just arrived at his home from work, his phone vibrated, he took it and saw the name Delia. His friend was calling him, he was confused as to why she would call him in the middle of the night but he still answered it.
Sobs were heard from across the phone, Qian's eyes widened. "Delia?! Is something wrong?!" He whispered shouted.
"Qian, help me please..." Delia's voice cracked, she couldn't stop her sobs. Qian's heart hurt, he really loved Delia. He treated her as his sister, hearing her like this broke him. Delia was his only friend and family, his brows furrowed and his eyes contained a glint of madness, he would kill anyone who hurts his family.
"Delia, calm down. Where are you right now? I'll come and get you." Qian said, trying his best to make his voice soft to not scare the crying girl.
"Im at xx hotel... Please hurry..." She whispered, barely even said through her sobs. Qian was wondering why would Delia be at a hotel when she had a home, his breath haltered. He clenched his fist, it better not be what he was thinking. He dashed, his bag falling but he didn't care, he need to get to Delia fast.
A clack sounded on Dalia's side, she asked Qian to hurry and suddenly hanged up. Qian cursed loudly, he put his phone in his pocket.
He kept running, oh how he wishes he had his own car or motorcycle, even a bicycle would do but he didn't had any as he just started working, he only had enough money for food, bills, and the rent of his apartment.
Qian saw a taxi, he shouted and the taxi stopped. "To xx hotel please!" He said, the driver nodded and he hurriedly sat inside.
'Delia, wait for me okay'
