I had woken up to something scratching on my arm again. I looked to see that it was Gilbert, and he had told me good morning and that he'd be leaving soon and that he couldn't talk long. I wrote back that it was ok and that I should be going as well.
~~~time skip and Gilbert's
POV~~~~I walked to this fancy looking looking place with a buddy of mine, Alexander Hamilton. I took a look around before I stepped inside, because.. well- I was very nervous. It's not everyday you get to meet the George Washington. Now that I think about it, it's kind of weird that my soulmate shared the same name as my soon-to-be-maybe-not general. But George was a common name, so I wasn't too worried. Anyway, we caught up to him to see that he was talking to some other soldiers as well. 'That's just great. I'm going to embarrass myself in front of not only George Washington, but many high ranking soldiers. Bon dieu.'
"Hey, Laf. You're thinking out loud."
(3rd person now :))
Hamilton suddenly said as he was leaving to get Washington's attention. Hamilton set on his way again, kneeling beside Washington. The general holding his finger up to silence the soldier who was previously talking. All throughout their conversation, Washington's eyes were on Gilbert, and that made him squirm slightly. He was never a fan of being put on the spotlight, and that's what his gaze felt like. Like all eyes were on him and he was expected to do something amazing. Anxious to do the right thing and not fuck up miserably."Gilbert? Laf? La Fayette!"
Hamilton shouted. Gilbert snapped out of his daze, as he realized it looked like he was staring at Washington. His cheeks glowed a slight pink at the though and averted his gaze to the floor. 'Damn it Gilbert, you already fucked up' The sound of footsteps alerted him, as he quickly shot his head up. He instantly regretted that decision as he locked eyes with Washington once again. Though this time it was different. He could see small splotches of color come into his vision as the general approached, and soon enough he was face to face with George Washington himself. Washington soon spoke up.
"I imagine you see the colors as well, Gilbert."
