Chapter 5: One More Day

Jett woke up and squinted slightly due to the light coming from the sun. Jett looked around scanning the room for a certain someone and did not see her anywhere.

Her heart started to race in anxiety... she stood up from the bed as her panic rises.

"Sage?" she called out as she peeked through the bathroom door

Sage was standing there, she was trying to put on her robe but froze when she realizes that she didn't lock the door.

A figure was watching her.. Jett became a tomato, she walked backwards looking away

"i-i-i-i'm s-sORRRYYYYY"

Sage was left there, embarassed and flustered as she cursed at herself.

Sage left the bathroom, walking back to Jett's room, she was nervous.. she knocked on the door and asked if she could come in..

There was no reply, Sage began to panic as she barged into the room.

Only to find a person hiding under the blankets.

"Jett you made me worry for a second.."

"I'm s-sorry.."

"Why are you hiding?"

"b-b-because"

Sage started growing impatient as she lifted up the covers to reveal a pretty mess with flushed cheeks.

"H-HEY WHY'D YOU DO THAT FOR"

Jett sprinted towards the window and updrafted to a different place.

Sage could not process what just happened...

"H a ?"

She was left in Jett's room alone, staring at an open window...

Sage went back to her room to get herself washed up before meeting up with Brimstone to discuss about their mission that will be held today.

On her way to the meeting room, she had encountered Raze.

"Hey Raze, have you seen Jett anywhere?"

"Mmmm nopeee"

"Ohh okay i'll see you around the-

She was interrupted by Raze saying that she heard a loud sound on the roof.

Sage face palmed and delayed a message to Brimstone, saying that she would be late.

She opened the door to the roof quietly, revealing a garden, and a girl sitting at the edge.

Sage walked towards Jett while trying not to get her attention. Jett was completely distracted, she was humming a song that seemed familiar to Sage.

It gave Sage a flashback, the memories she had lost because of the sickening rule that was created by the government.

Every single child must live at the memory reset centre with all the other children for 2 years.

And after turning 8 they must be brainwashed, nothing must be remembered... nothing. But some people have been complaining about the memory reset in 2012-2014, there had been an error in the machines that were used.

Some children had their brains fried, some did not lose any of their memories, some would have flashbacks from time to time and... some would have have horrifying flashbacks way too often that it drives them crazy...

Unfortunately, Sage was one of the victims..

The first flashback she had was about her friends entering an experimenting room.. and never coming back.

The second, it was about how only one person out of everyone came back except her.

The third, the only person that came out became her friend.

And for the latest one up to today, it was a song that she made with her friend.

Sage was shocked...why... how does Jett know about that song.. she gasped- a little bit too loud..

Jett stopped humming and turned around slowly..

"u-uhm were you listening...?"

Sage told her the truth.. "mhm"

"oH.. this is embarassing.. ahaha..."

Jett cursed at herself.. why do i get flustered so easily goddamnit.. act cool. play cool.

She inhaled and exhaled..

"I'm sorry for listening without you being aware"

"No no it's fine Sage! I'm just surprised because it was a song that i made with someone from a long time ago"

Her mouth curled up into a smile while she thought about it.

Sage was more than shocked.. no way it was Jett.. coincidence happened again... but is it really?

Just as Sage was about to ask her about the past she was interrupted by an announcement coming from the speaker.

"Sage and Jett please head to the meeting room as the planning of the next mission will begin soon"

Jett stretched her body and dashed to her room to take a quick bath.

Again.. leaving Sage alone and confused...

Sage had reached the meeting room at the same time as Jett, woah her speed is no joke... Sage thought to herself..

Sage waiting for Jett to enter first while she had been doing the same thing.

"You can go in first"

"No you can go first"

"In you go m'lady" Jett joked

Sage chuckled and played along, "You first, mistress"

Jett stared at Sage confused and turning beetroot red, "I admit defeat"

As Jett dashed into the room like as if she was in a hurry..

Sage couldn't help but burst into a laughter at what just happened.

Viper and Omen were also on their way and had seen everything that just happened.

"I've never seen Sage laugh like that before"

"He he he... are you thinking what i'm thinking?" Omen started smirking.

Viper played along as they walked towards Sage

"Sage, so Viper was curious about your relationship with Je-" Viper tackled Omen's neck giving him a sign to shut up.

Sage had never seen Viper's other side of her personality, they must be really good friends, she giggled to herself.

They all entered the meeting room together and started discussing about the plans.
