Five Years Later

Zoe's POV

She was extremely nervous as she got ready for dinner. This was not any dinner, this was the most important dinner.

"Babe, it'll be alright. Don't stress."

"And you're sure this is okay? I don't want to make you feel bad." She was arranging her hair so the curls framed her face. She had on a pair of slacks and a pink blouse.

"It's alright. Plus it's beyond time." He wrapped his strong arms around her. And she relaxed.

They headed to the car and she played with her engagement ring. On Valentine's Day Craig had proposed and she was over the moon with excitement. They weren't getting married for a while but the ideal of it was exciting.

They were the first to arrive at the steakhouse. Zoe had requested a private room for her and her guests. Faye had messages her and asked if they could invite their friends along since they were at a horse competition, Faye said they would pay for themselves.

Zoe had written back that of course they could but she was still buying. So she had saved for months to do it and was fully prepared for the most expensive meal of her life. But it made her smile that she would be seeing her old friends.

She fussed over the place settings, where she had their names placed. Pin, Faye, and their children next to her and Craig. And Gaby and her boyfriend next to Craig. Marcus, Mia, and their son next to Becky and Alex. And then Jade and Susie. Her sister and Ben next to Aaron and Winnie. Heather unfortunately couldn't come.

"It's perfect Zoe, come sit. I'll order us drinks."

She sat and tried to relax but the butterflies in her stomach were flying like crazy. She sipped on a water to feel less queasy.

After a few minutes she got a text notification saying they were here.

She stood up and welcomed the Bright Fields Group.

"Hi guys. You look gorgeous." She smiled and Faye gave her a hug.

"So do you, congratulations that's a gorgeous ring."

Faye smiled and looked at everyone else.

Becky and Jade made their way over to hug tackle her.

"Thank you for inviting us! Oh my god America is so interesting. I saw someone drink cold tea, cold. Can you believe that?" Some things never change, Becky is one of them. She still were her bright colors and glitter. But it was more sophisticated.

Jade had a wedding ring in that had a pink diamond. She smiled and rolled her eyes.

Rosie and Aaron came up to her next then they all took their seats.

The children all started to play on the ground, but not in the way of the waiters.

And the dinner began.

It was nice, they talked pleasantries and Gaby and Zoe talked about raven winning another gold medal.

Pin and Faye had another baby, this one was a year old and she was giggling while looking at Zoe's jewelry. Zoe felt her heart melt.

The conversation never lacked and she finally felt a piece of her heart heal, the one that had broken when she left England and left them. Craig got along with them, and they were all best buddies by the very end.

Zoe apologized yet again but they told her it was okay, that they all grew and that's what mattered.

You can not change the past, but you can change how you act or look at a situation, Zoe can't undo all the bad things but she changed and took responsibility.

She was so grateful because she was so happy now and she remade friends. And all thanks to the Duke's wedding.
