The seven members of Kavinsky's team stared up at the office building, their workplace and headquarters for the next year.

As they walked through the empty lobby towards the elevators, they all received a very long text from a group chat Kavinsky had made to keep in contact with everyone.

Kavinsky:
"Good morning, I hope that you all slept well and had time to look over the paperwork over the last two days.
Your office space is on the seventh floor, unit 27.
I've called ahead and made sure that it was well equipped with everything you will need. Good luck and have a good first day.
One last thing, I've added one more team member to your group. He's a brilliant mathematician and physicist and he should be able to help you immensely."

Y/n stared at the bright screen in confusion along with the others. She wasn't aware of any new developments, much less a new team member.

Since she was essentially in charge of everything, she was a bit annoyed at the lawyer for springing this on them last minute.

She hoped that the new face was as good as Kavinsky had made him out to be. The last thing she needed today was something pushing the whole project off track.

Lauren noticed the slight stress and annoyance on Y/n's face but she chose to not say anything yet.

She stood behind a tense Y/n in the elevator watching the taller woman's jaw clench in frustration, the interior designer concluding to herself that the taller woman was most likely just not the biggest fan of change or surprises.

Y/n was the first to exit the elevator, pushing her way through the rest of the members gently to make her way to the office door first.

She noted that the door was unlocked and the new member was likely already there, but when she pushed the door open, she saw no one inside.

Y/n heard soft gasps from behind her and let one out herself, staring at the beautiful set up in front of her.

The office was spacious and had stairs leading to a loft area in the back, with white and black being the predominant shades of the room.

Eight large white desks marked work stations for each person and each were equipped with Mac desktop computers.
A long white table took up most of the loft space, besides a large rolling white board that stood at the end closest to the stairs.

Two black lamps hung suspended from the ceiling over each desk and there were large white cabinets and glass cases full of items they would need.

Kavinsky hadn't lied when he'd said that he would give them nothing but the best resources.

Y/n ran her fingertips along the desk furthest from the door and sat down on the metal stool on the opposite side of the computer.
It was time to get started on the project.

"Okay everybody, pick a work station and get yourself set up, grab a cup of coffee from the machine or Starbucks, and go to the restroom if you need to. After that, we'll meet at the table upstairs for our first meeting to go over the first steps."

As soon as Y/n finished speaking, the other six members nodded and dispersed around the room, noting that one desk in particular nearest the door already seemed to be in use.

Y/n had just finished logging into all her accounts and opening her architect program, when she heard the office door open.

Her blood ran cold when she saw who had entered the room and she could feel her head pound, as she studied the man in front of her.

His hair had grown a little longer and he looked stronger and well muscled, but other than that, he looked the exact same as he had all those years ago.

Tucker sent a lopsided smile her way and gave her a small wave with his free hand, the other clutching a small cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich from Starbucks.

"Hey Y/n, long time, no see."
