A few weeks later, Evie is still in Greendale but so far she has not spoken to Zelda at all. She regularly visits her father and stepmother. Constance never had a grudge against the girl as she knew Faustus would never let her become his successor, so she saw no threat in her. Even though Evanora tried to convince him otherwise, he would not budge. So, Evie just played along as her stepmother even seemed to care for her well-being. The redhead needed a place to stay, after all. When Evie decided to stay a little longer, Faustus offered to let her stay at the Academy, in a room of her own, of course.
She occasionally hangs out with Sabrina and her friends or with Ambrose when Zelda isn't home. And even though Evie usually doesn't like mortals much, Sabrina's friends were actually fun to hang out with. Though, it was hard not to talk about anything witch-related, and Evanora could clearly see Sabrina struggling with it too.
At the Academy, she still followed her regular classes. She excelled at Demonology and history; when she was younger she used to be great at Ancient Tongues too because of her mother, but she'd been neglecting that subject lately.
November approached quickly, meaning the Feast of Feasts was inbound. Evanora didn't really care for the event or whether or not someone died. Witch or not. But Sabrina, it seems, thought differently about it.
Evanora meets up with Sabrina as the blonde leaves High School. "Hey, Brina." Evie greets her with a smile, sitting on the hood of her car again. This had become their regular routine. Evie would pick Sabrina up from High School twice a week, so the two of them could go to the Academy together, or just to hang out at Cerberus'.
"Hey." Sabrina greets in return, but she seems a little absent-minded. Evie frowns at her.
"Is everything alright?"
Sabrina shakes her head lightly. "Not really, no. You know about the Feast of Feasts right?"
Evanora nods. "Yeah, what about it?"
"Don't you think it's barbaric?" Sabrina questions, glancing at her cousin as they step into the car. Evie just raises her shoulders.
"I don't really care about it. As long as I don't have to participate. I'm not really into the whole cannibalism thing, though." Evanora huffs as she starts the car. Sabrina was about to say something, but she stopped herself. Evie notices it and is curious what she was going to say. "Why are you suddenly so interested in it?"
The blonde hesitates for a moment. "It's…" She sighs and Evie frowns at her. "It's just that our family was chosen to participate… and Aunt Zelda insisted she'd do it."
Evanora rolls her eyes and shakes her head. "Of course she did. I wasn't part of this choice, I see?"
Sabrina gave a small grin at that remark. Surely her cousin still cared about Zelda. "Why? Would you have taken her place?" This makes Evanora shrug.
"I don't care whether Zelda dies or not." The blonde's eyes grow wider and Evie quickly corrects herself. "I mean, I do care. But I don't think she'll be chosen. I can try talking to my father. But I highly doubt it will change anything. So, what do we do?"
"Oh don't worry. I have a plan." Sabrina smiles mischievously.
"You sure I can't help?" The redhead asks but her cousin shakes her head. Evie rolls her eyes but trusts her cousin for now. "If you say so. Wanna grab some milkshakes before going to the academy?"
"Sure!" Sabrina replies and Evie drives off to Cerberus'.
Later that evening, Evie sat at dinner with her father and her stepmother. She thought about trying to convince her father not to let the Feast of Feasts continue, wanting to help Sabrina. "But you don't have to do it. Surely the Dark Lord would understand that the coven doesn't want to lose anymore witches." Evanora says.
