"Hi sweetheart, how was your lesson?" Zelda asks from behind her newspaper.
A redheaded girl runs into the parlor, a wide smile on her face. "It was great! Father taught me how to summon a demon!" She says excitedly, plopping down next to Zelda on the couch. The older woman puts the newspaper down.
"I'm so proud of you, Evie." She replies lovingly, stroking the girl's hair and kissing the top of her head.
"Proud, Zelda? An 8 year old shouldn't be taught that. It's dangerous." Edward huffs, sitting in the chair opposite of them. "I'll have to talk to Blackwood about that."
"But father was there to keep me safe and I've been learning about demons since I was little." Evie retorts, glaring at her uncle. Meanwhile, Zelda goes back to reading the paper.
"That doesn't matter, you could endanger others if the spell goes wrong. How did you even convince him to teach you? He wouldn't tell me how to summon a demon until my second year at the Academy." Edward frowns at her and Evanora scoffs.
"All I did was ask about demons. Besides, I just pick things up quicker than others. What's wrong with that?" Evie looks over to her mother, who just raises her eyebrows.
"Nothing, sweetheart." She answers as she continues reading her newspaper.
"See?" Evie smiles at her uncle before giving her mother a quick kiss on the cheek and hopping off the couch. "I'm gonna read in my room." She says and sprints out of the room and upstairs to her bedroom, closing the door behind her.
"Really Zelda?" Edward glares at his sister, who is hiding behind her newspaper.
"What? It will only make her stronger, which in turn will show everyone exactly how powerful the Spellman family is. Isn't that what you want?" She replies nonchalantly. Edward shakes his head and leaves the room as well, not saying a word.

It's almost dark outside when her phone rings as Evie is unpacking her things in her temporary hotel room. "This is Evanora speaking."
"Hi Evie! It's Sabrina." The girl says and Evie chuckles.
"I figured. What's up, Sabrina?" She asks as she puts away some clothes in the nearby wardrobe.
"Aunt Hilda just got home, she said you wanted to catch up or something?" Evie totally forgot about that as she was busy finding a place to stay. Hopefully Zelda won't be there...
"Right... Let me unpack everything and then I will be right there." She looks around the room and estimates it will take about five minutes if she uses some magic.
"Cool! See you soon then!" Evie could practically hear Sabrina jump up in excitement and the redhead couldn't help but smile. She felt lucky to have such a sweet cousin. Usually she didn't like people this quickly.
"See you in a bit." Evanora replied before hanging up, continuing her previous work with a little bit more effort. Once she was done, she spun into a new outfit, a wine red dress with long sleeves and a bow around the waist in the same color. Putting on a warm coat, because it was becoming rather cold now, she walked out, taking her car to her old home.
As soon as she closed the front door of the house, Sabrina walked up to her in the blink of an eye. "Aunt Hilda is in the kitchen." She stated before tugging Evie along to said kitchen.
"Hello, my darlings." Hilda smiles at the pair from behind the counter, Ambrose sitting opposite of her, eating the jam she was making.
"Cousin." He smiles at Evie before taking a spoonful of the substance. "Did you manage to find anything in town?"
