I solemnly Swear Pt. 2

Walking home is hard. I look back at Amara's house, the place I've spent so much time growing up and I cannot imagine not being able to go back there. I don't want to think about how her mom and dad will feel, how their hearts will break when they find out she's dead.
"Hey Cash, everything alright?" Mom's voice startles me as I push the door open and I'm greeted by her warm smile.

Lie to her, lie to her.

"Huh? Yea everything's fine." I try to smile, but thinking about Amara and what she's going to do stops me. "I'm going to my room." Before she has a chance to ask anything else I head for the stairs, needing to avoid her.

What if she asks about Amara? What will I tell her?

I slam my door without thinking and sit at my desk. The same desk Amara helped fill with silly quotes out of the magazines she reads. I stare at the picture of us at the water park this past summer. Whenever we're together we have fun and I enjoy making memories with her. I want to continue making memories with her.

What am I going to do when she's gone? How will all our plans for college pan out if she's not here. We're supposed to travel the world together.

We've been through so much together. I know what Tony did is the worst thing that can happen to her, but I can help her get through it if she'd let me. This sucks. I grab my phone, hoping I could try to change her mind.

Cash [4:28] Amara, please think about what you're doing and how it'll affect everyone

Cash [4:41] Text me back.

Cash [4:47] Amara I know you're reading my text. Don't hurt yourself. I need you. Your family needs you.

Cash [5:00] Don't let what Tony did beat you, I can help you

She reads my text but doesn't respond. I wish I could go over there and talk to her mom and dad. They could talk to her, get her the help she needs, but this stupid promise. I can't break it. What if I do save her? Will she really end our friendship?
