Reanna's P.O.V
December had arrived and it had gotten colder in the corridors of Hogwarts. Snow fell outside and we'd occasionally hear the sound of snow falling onto the ground. Herbology was the worst since we had to spend the class outside, huddled in our robes. Christmas was coming and the atmosphere was filled with excited students.
Yet that wasn't the talk of the week. The Yule Ball was coming up. The Yule Ball was a traditional celebration held on Christmas Eve from 8pm till midnight. It is opened by the champions and their partners. Fourth Years and above were the only ones allowed to attend although if a younger student was asked they would be allowed to go. Prashu and I didn't have dates yet, but Sophia was asked out by Lee Jordan!!! If you heard our squeals you'd probably go deaf.
For me there was only one guy who I wished would ask me out. Fred Weasley. I know, I know!! I finally admitted to my crush on him. Recently, whenever I hung out with the twins, I started to get butterflies everytime Fred looked at me. I would unintentionally blush when his hand brushed mine or when he stood close to me. So, I concluded that I had a crush on him.
I haven't told anyone else yet. I knew if I told Prashu and Sophia, they would tease me about it and I'd have to deal with it nonstop. Nope. I'd rather hide my crush on Fred and have a peaceful time leading up to the Yule Ball.
It being a Saturday we all headed into Hogsmeade to look for gowns to wear to the ball. Abi, Hermione and Ginny tagged along with us as we browsed through different shops. We all ended up at Gladrags Wizardwear. They didn't usually sell gowns but today, there was a special because everyone knew that the Yule Ball was coming up. There were other girls here too. All trying on different dresses, giggling with each other, probably talking about the guy they liked.
Ginny gasped as she held up a dress to herself. It was a yellow, asymmetrical lace dress. The front was shorter than the back and laced flower patterns covered the whole dress. (A/N sorry I changed Ginny's original dress. I didn't really think the one in the movie suited her so I changed it! Sorry if you don't like it!)
"Omg!" Hermione exclaimed, "that looks really good on you!!"
She ushered Ginny towards the change room, "Let's go try it on!"
That left me, Prashu, Sophia and Abi here to find our dresses.
I was browsing through some short dresses when Prashu suddenly called for me.
"Reanna! Get over here!" She called, "and Abi you too!"
Both of us hurried over to where she was at. In her hand she was holding two dresses. One blue, one green. Prashu handed one to Abi and one to me. Abi's dress was light green and it looked like the bodice had jewels on it.
"These dresses would look great on you!!" Prashu said excitedly, "Go try them on!!"
She pushed us both to the changing rooms. Ginny was already out with her dress on.
"That looks so good on you Ginny!" I said. "You should totally get that dress!"
She nodded shyly before returning to her changing room. I entered the one right next to her. Before I put it on I took a closer look at the dress Prashu had chosen for me. It was long, light blue with flowers sewn on at the skirt of the dress. There were no straps and I wondered if it would be too revealing, but I tried it on anyways.
After I put it on I exited the room and showed Prashu who was waiting there with another dress in her hands.
"You look amazing!!!" Prashu squealed, "Cedric will definitely be drooling when he sees you in that!"
