Chapter 2: The letters

July 27th 1991

Harry and Neville were cooking dinner for the Dursleys.

"You best make sure that the meat doesn't overcook" Petunia hissed.

"Yes ma'am" Neville mumbled.

"Go get the mail!" Vernon demanded, not caring which boy did.

Harry went to the front door and saw,

Wait
No
It couldn't be

Something was addressed to him and Neville!

Before either of them could open the letter Dudley grabbed it out of his hand.

"Harry and Neville's got something!!" Dudley exclaimed.

"Nonsense, who would write to you freaks" Vernon huffed, snatching the letter from Dudley and reading the seal on the back.

Wide-eyed Petunia Dursley let out a trill of pure terror.

The two whispered to each other.

Vernon bolted the mail slot (idk what it's called) shut.

A few days later.

"Ah, you boys know why Sunday's are the best days?" Vernon questioned.

"No posts on Sunday's" Harry and Neville murmured.

"That's right boys!" Vernon bragged "no more pesky posts on Sunday's "

*PITTER PATTER* The whole family heard footsteps on the roof.

Letters flood the house from top to bottom.

Harry and Neville each grab one letter. They both rush to the cupboard under the stairs, Harry manages to make it in but before Neville makes it in Vernon grabs Neville's collar.

"YOU GIVE ME THOSE LETTERS BOY!" Vernon angrily screeched, slamming Neville into the wall.

"We need to leave" Vernon pants "Somewhere no one will ever find us!"

"Daddy's gone mad hasn't he?!" Dudley exclaims.

Petunia holds Dudley close.

Le time skip

July 30th 1991 11:58pm

The Dursley's are sleep in the lighthouse bedroom as Harry and Neville sleep on the floor.

Neville and Harry each draw a birthday cake in the dirt on the floor.

"Happy birthday Neville" Harry says, wrapping his arm around him.

"Happy birthday Harry" Neville responds, leaning his head on Harry's shoulder.
