San Dimas, California. April 17th, 1989. It was a calm, beautiful day. The skies are clear and the weather is nice with a hint of cool breeze blowing through. In a town of San Dimas lies two teenage boys who was laying on the shady grass, looking up at the sky. Their eyes were closed with a smile, feeling so relaxed on a Friday afternoon. No homework, no working at Pretzels n' Cheese, just freedom at last. The two teens opened their eyes slowly and look back up at the sky. One of the teens is name Bill S. Preston Esquire. Bill is 17 years old, a Junior in San Dimas High, wearing a plain, bright yellow shirt with blue jeans and a green plaid sweater wrapped around his waist and wearing white converse shoes. His hair is curly blonde as his eyes were blue-grey. Next to Bill is a teen name Ted Theodore Logan, a 17 year old Junior in San Dimas High, who is wearing a white Van Halen shirt, a black vest over it, black shorts with a smiley sticker and 'Save The Humans' sticker on it, grey jogging pants all rolled up underneath his shorts with an orange jacket wrapped around his waist and wearing black converse shoes with purple laces. His messy hair is brown as his eyes are brown/hazel like chocolate that will make a girl's heart melt. Bill and Ted sigh softly with a smile as they looked at each other. "No lie Bill," Ted spoke in a surfer's voice, "but I feel so relaxed. I mean, all we've done is just lay here and feel the wind blowing through us, which is truly most outstanding." Bill nodded his head. "I agreed Ted my friend," he said with a surfer's voice. "After all that work in school with quizzes and taking notes on some story we've never paid attention to, we really deserve this long, yet excellent, weekend break." As they both looked back up at the sky, Bill's stepmother, Missy, was calling Bill and Ted, "Bill! Ted! I made pasta!" Bill waved his hand, eyes still shut, and said, "we'll be there mom." Missy shook her head with a smile and left them out of the backyard. Ted's stomach began to growl, which made him sat up and cover his stomach. Bill opened one eye, then the other, and sat up, giving Ted a concerned look. "Did you skipped lunch Ted?" He asked. Ted shook his head. "No Bill. I would never miss pizza on Fridays. Its totally my favorite weekday every Friday," said Ted as his stomach growled louder. Bill looks at Ted's stomach and back to Ted's eyes, arching one eyebrow. He sighed sadly. "Ok. I only had to miss one because there was this huge babe fight going on at school and I do not want to miss that." Bill sighed and looked away, shaking his head. "No lie Ted," Bill spoke softly, "but you gotta stop skipping lunch. You've done it so many times and it is totally affecting not only mine but your life. This has got to stop Ted." Ted understood what Bill is saying. Started 8th grade, his father wouldn't let him eat school lunches, due to the junk the cafeteria employers serve, because it will make him weak and he will never grown strong. He always think to himself he is weak and will never get a girlfriend since that is the one thing that is always on his mind, besides music. Ted looked at Bill, feeling completely guilty about what he has done for the past 4 years of skipping school lunches. "And Ted?" Bill asked as Ted began to prepare himself for a most heinous conversation about the life he is living in now but, Bill continued, "how was the fight? Who won? Who started it? What happened before the fight?" Ted was shocked, thinking he was going to hate him but with a couple of chuckles, he told Bill about the chick fight from school.
As the sun began to set, Bill sat on the rooftop of his house, hugging his knees close to his chest and watch the sun slowly fade away. The skies turned from blue into a orange-pink warm color. he couldn't keep his eyes off of the beauty from nature. Ted climbed out of Bill's window, jumped to the tree branch, climbed up to another tree branch and jumps to the roof, grabbing the edge of the roof. Bill lets go of his knees and grabs Ted's hand, pulling him up as they both fell on each other. Bill on his back of the roof and Ted on top of Bill. They looked into each other's eyes and Ted quickly got off of him, feeling the awkward moment as they both took a step away from each other to give each other a personal space of their own. They both looked at the sun setting behind the far away distance buildings of Downtown Los Angeles. None of them spoke a word. They just want a peace of silence for respect of the sun setting away into the horizon. "See you tomorrow beautiful and way too bright sun," said Ted as he waved goodbye. Bill looked at Ted and scoffed with a smile. He looks back at the sun and waves goodbye with Ted, saying, " Yea. See you in the morning sun." As the last piece of the sun was gone, the crescent moon shone behind Bill and Ted while the sky slowly turned black with stars beginning to sparkle like glistening glitter. "Now that's what I call relaxation Ted," said Bill. Ted nods his head. "I agree Bill my friend. I totally agree." They looked at each other as Ted asked, "wanna jam at my house?" Bill shrugged. "Sure. After all it is the weekend." They both stood up and took the same path back to Bill's room window. Bill jumps in and Ted jumps in after, almost losing his balance once he landed inside. The room was dark but a bit lit from the moon's glow entering the room, giving it another calm feeling inside which made Bill yawn. "Aww Bill," Ted spoke in despair, "you cannot be this tired already. It's only," he looked at his watch and said, "7:53. We haven't even left your house and you're tired already." Bill began to rub his eyes and stretched as he spoke in a calm tone, "sorry Ted. I didn't knew I would get this calm." He sat on the edge of his bed and lays down, slowly closing his eyes. Ted knew just as Bill was about to close his eyes, he got on top of him, grips on both of his shoulders and shakes him back and forth roughly. Bill's eyes shot open once he felt Ted shaking him as he pushed him off. Ted fell off of Bill and landed on his back, looking up at the ceiling. "Ok. Ok. I'm up Ted. I'm up," said Bill as groaned loudly and stretched. "Let's go to your house." But it was too late. Just as Bill was about to grab Ted's hand, he saw him already asleep. Bill rolled his eyes and sighs with a face palm. He slowly placed his arms under Ted's back and carefully picks him up (not in a gay way). He carefully placed Ted on his bed and slowly removed his arms but his left arm was caught from Ted's hand. " Don't go dude..." spoke Ted in a tired voice. Bill smiled a little and whispers into Ted's ear, "I won't leave you dude. I'm just going to call your dad about a sleepover." Saying that to Ted made Bill's arm set free from the arms of Ted Theodore Logan. He began to walk out of his room, down the stairs and into the living room where Missy and his dad were watching The Love Boat. He headed into the kitchen and grabs the house phone. He dials the number for Ted's house and it began to rang. A voicemail was heard from Ted's voice as it said, "Hi. You reached Logan's residents. Sorry we couldn't answer the phone right now. Please leave a message and either my father, Deacon, or I will call you back. Thanks strange dude.' He chuckled at the voicemail as he said, "Hi Mr. Logan. This is Bill S. Preston Esquire. Uhm...I just want to let you know Ted is alright and he didn't do anything bad but he is asleep right now. I don't want to worry you about your son or anything like that. Just want to let you know he's still here in my house and asleep. Thanks for listening." He hung up the phone and began to walk back to his room until Missy said, "oh Bill. This just arrived for you." She handed Bill a small package with a letter that said, 'To: Wyld Stallyns.' It didn't say who it was from but shrugs it off and takes both the letter and package back up the stairs and into his room where Ted is still asleep on his bed. He slowly closes the door from behind, placed the package and letter on the shelf on top of his bed and lays next to Ted, placing both his hands on his chest and looks up at the ceiling. He felt Ted's hands hugging his arm and cuddling him like a plush teddy bear. He looks at Ted and scoffed with a smile. "Fag," he whispered. Ted heard what Bill said and smiled softly with a silent chuckle. Bill looked back at the ceiling and began to close his eyes, slowly started to fall into a calm, deep sleep.
