Chapter 3: Friends ?

A/N: Sorry for not updating for a few weeks, anyway here's the next chapter.

Catra and adora have packed up their belongings. Catra waits outside as adora goes to the bathroom, she gets bored so she decides to lite up a cigarette.

Adora exits the coffee shop as catra flicks her cigarette bud on the floor. Adora walks up to catra "hey adora" "hey catra I was thinking that we could go for a walk since it's a nice night" Catra thought about it "sure, why not" the pair started walking.

The moon was starting to come out and there was a slight breeze but it was still warm outside. Catra and Adora walk for a bit in comfortable silence. Catra was curious as to why adora didn't want to go home, she wanted to ask Adora about it but she thought that it might be too personal.

After a few minutes of contemplating, Catra decided to ask adora. "Adora" Adora stopped walking and turned to look at catra. "Why didn't you want to go home" Adora got an idea she would only answer Catras question if Catra answers one of hers.

"if you want me to tell you, you have to answer one of my questions too" Catra gets visibly annoyed by Adora's antics "ugghh fine, but you have to go first"

They decide to sit down on a bench. "so why don't you want to go home" Adora takes a deep breath before she starts "well my mom puts a lot of pressure on me to be perfect at everything if I dont get straight A's she gets really angry and I just didn't want to deal with that today"

Catra noticed the fear in Adora's eyes as she spoke "what do you mean she gets angry" "oh nothing s-she just yells at me" Catra became increasingly concerned "now you have to answer my question" Adora was clearly trying to change the topic.

"fine, what do you want to know" Adora was relieved that Catra didn't push her about her mom. "Why have you moved around so much" Catra's eyes quickly moved from Adora to the ground.

"Im in the foster system I've moved around a lot because every foster family sends me back after a few weeks" Adora felt sympathetic toward Catra "why didn't you want to tell me that" Catra continues to stare at the ground.

"because people have bulled me because of it, they judge me before even trying to get to know me" catra finally looks up and is met with Adora's beautiful ocean blue eyes "I would never judge you because you're in foster care" adora pause before she continues " I was in the foster system before my mom adopted me"

"im glad you got out the care system" Adora's smile grew so big her cheeks started to hurt. " Awwww does somebody care" "what no" "you do" Catra kicks Adora's leg gently "get over yourself" the pair start to laugh.

After they stop laughing they get up and start walking again. Adora looks at the skateboard in Catras arms " hey, can I try"

Adora said pointing at the board " sure" Catra hands Adora her skateboard.

Adora has never used a skateboard before but figures that it wasn't hard, she place the board on the ground and gently stood on it. Catra watched Adora push with her right leg and instantly faceplant the ground. Catra burst out laughing as she walks over to help Adora up.

"you've never skateboarded before, have you" Adora had a few cuts on her nose but was fine. "no I haven't, I didn't think it would be hard" "well maybe I could teach you sometime" both catra and adora blushed at the offer. "yeah maybe"

Catra ran off to get her skateboard. when she came back she couldn't see Adora. "Adora" Catra started to get worried "boo" Catra jumped as Adora taped on her shoulder. "what the hell," Catra said as Adora started laughing. "you should have seen your face"

"whatever just, dont do that again," Catra said in an annoyed tone " okay, okay im sorry"

Catra and Adora walk to a park and lie down on the grass. "there's a lot of stars tonight" Adora said as she laid down, "yeah their beautiful." Adora looked over to catra who was laying next to her, she could see the sparkle in Catras eyes as she looked up at the stars. 'you're beautiful ' Adora thought before she realize that she was staring and quickly look back at the stars.

"Hey, can I ask you a question," Catra said softly. " of course" Adora replied. Both Catra and Adora turn to look at each other "I know you have friends so why did you want to hang out with me instead of them "

Adora thought about it "I guess because you seemed sad when you said that I shouldn't try and be your friend" Adora took a breath before she continued "I want to be your friend Catra, I choose to stay with you because I want to get to know you"

"I suppose making one friend isn't such a bad idea" "so does this mean we're friends," Adora said with a huge smirk. Catra rolled her eyes "yes we can be friends" Adora feel overjoyed and pulled Catra into a hug but Catra didn't reciprocate and just froze.

Adora quickly pulled away worried that catra wasn't comfortable, she remembered Catras reaction when she grabbed her arm at school. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable" "it's fine, just a little warning next time would be nice."

"Okay, hey what's the time" Adora realized how late it must be getting "oh shit, it's almost 11." Adora jumped to her feet in a state of panic "it's 11, I got to get home my mom's gonna kill me" Catra could see the fear in Adora's eyes. "Adora, calm down it's okay let's start walking back"

They walk to the gate at the front of the park "what way do you need to go" Catra was concerned for Adora, she wanted to know why Adora was so Scared but she know Adora wouldn't tell her if she asked. "I got to go down that way" Adora pointed down Plumeria road. " well I have to go the other way, Adora" " yeah" "thanks for spending time with me tonight most people dont want to be around someone in the system." Catra decides to wait to ask about Adora's mom till tomorrow.

"I loved spending time with you tonight Catra, you dont need to thank me I should be the one thanking you as you didn't really want to hang out with me at first but you still did."Catra let out a small laugh "yeah that's true, anyway I'd better get home or my foster family might call the cops or something" "I wouldn't want that " Adora said while laughing "ill see you tomorrow Catra"

Adora started walking home she turned around to see Catra skating away in the distance. "Time to go home," Adora said to herself as she walked down the road.
